In partnership with Audi, Asia’s largest international design event series, Design Shanghai, celebrated its 10th anniversary from 8-11th of June. In total, the show welcomed 77,254 visitors over the four days and showcased more than 600 local and international brands from 40 countries and regions.

The show welcomed visitors from 33 countries: Malaysia, Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, UK, US, Vietnam, Spain, Australia, Canada, Christmas Island, Denmark, Finland, China Hong Kong, China Taiwan, and China Macau. This year, the globally celebrated show expanded by 50% and explored how Eastern and Western design philosophies can work together synergistically across three Halls.

During the four days, Design Shanghai showed international and Chinese brands presenting new product launches, from furniture to decor. Some of the newly launched products at this year’s event can be seen below:


Global Launches:

Sun at Six, USA

Antares Yee is a New York City-based designer and current Creative Director of Sun at Six, an award-winning contemporary furniture design studio interested in how spaces shape our choices, actions, and mood in everyday life. The brand debuted four new pieces, including the Wave dining table pictured above.

Fuli, China

Chinese brand Fuli unveiled a new collection of rugs designed by British fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes. “The lipstick pattern is one of Dame Zandra Rhodes’s classic print designs. The homonymic fabric she designed in 1968 has been collected at V&A”.

Frank Chou, China

Frank Chou (周宸宸) presented the “stand” coffee table, a reinterpretation of the Bauhaus design. The main body of the frame is covered with wool fabric, contrasting with the minimalist structure and glass top.

Maria Yee, USA
A design pioneer focused on California contemporary furniture, her design studio blends overall wellness, sustainable materials, and expert craftsmanship. She showcased her Zither Lattice coffee table and Beam leather sofa, designed for ultimate laidback lounging.

The versatile and modular units present countless configuration possibilities to be used as sofas, loveseats, ottomans or sectionals. Its clean, modern design and relaxed silhouettes can be dressed in varied leather colours to tailor to any space and style.

Acerbis, Italy

Acerbis debuted Due Più, designed by Nanda Vigo, with a steel frame and furs reclaimed from food industry waste, according to circular economy principles that make it compatible with contemporary ethics.

A pioneer with 150 years of expertise and one of the most enduring furniture companies in Italy, Acerbis stands as a connoisseur’s benchmark of Italian design.

Christofle, France

Christofle launched the “MOOD ASIA” tray composed of removable and reversible wooden compartments, porcelain ramekins and sauce bowls. The platter invites itself to every table with a promise of sharing and emotion around Asian gastronomy.


Asian Launches:

Mattiazzi, Italy

Mattiazzi showcased new designs by Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic and Studio Œ. In the past 14 years, Mattiazzi has emerged as a celebrated premium brand with an uncompromising design ethos, collaborating with the global design elite such as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Studio Nitzan Cohen and Sam Hecht & Kim Colin.

Christofle, France

Christofle is entering the world of sneakers, objects highly sought-after worldwide by demanding collectors. Christofle presented a “sneaker box”, a case lined with green velvet, with a lid featuring two notches for ease of handling, crafted in silver-plated metal and by hand by a master silversmith using a centuries-old technique.

GUBI, Denmark

GUBI unveiled three collections: “Satellite”, originally designed by Mathieu Matégot, “Timberline” collection originally designed by Mads Caprani and “Carmel” Collection designed by OEO STUDIO.

Flos, Italy
Flos released four new collections: My Circuit, Taccia White, 2097-75 / Matte White, and Skynest Suspension, designed by Marcel Wanders.

Flos is recognised as a leading international-level manufacturer of top-end designer lights and innovative lighting systems. The company boasts an extensive catalogue of iconic lamps created by legendary names in the history of design.

SEEDESIGN, Taiwan

SeeDesign launched an innovative new lighting collection, WING. With bold yet subtle design elements, WING achieves a beautiful balance between imagination and realisation, seamlessly weaving light into a dynamic beauty. Due to their exquisite “Dual lighting” system, the translucent dual-leaf softly diffuses the light upwards, swaying elegantly to create a cosy and weightless atmosphere.

Jianze, China
Jianze showcased seven pieces, 4 of which will be new products (Moments Showcase, Seeds Storage System, Pine-Pine Sofa and Ripple System and the Noon mirror (below).

Jianze has collaborated with China’s renowned industrial designer Chen Min and the Dutch pioneering design duo Raw Color. Continuously gathering diverse design forces from home and abroad, Jianze sought to provide inclusive and environmentally friendly home design.
