Woodham Mortimer is offering for sale a unique time warp 1968 Mk1 Morris Minor-Mini Super De Luxe that’s covered only 272 miles from new!
This 1968 Mk1 Morris Minor-Mini Super De Luxe is being offered as it would have been delivered more than 50 years ago. Incredibly, the car even has the plastic seat covers fitted and intact!
The car was built in 1967, making it one of the last Mk1 Minis to roll off the production line. The first owner back in 1968 was Mrs B Jones, who purchased the car in order to learn to drive. Unfortunately, she didn’t pass and the car was put away in a garage. It remained there until it was auctioned by her family a few years ago.
Thanks to Mrs Jones foresight, someone now has the chance to venture back in time and own a factory fresh Mini Super De Luxe.
As you can see from the photos, the car still retains the smallest details that are frequently lost with even the most faithful of restorations. The door strikers, which were painted in Old English White to match the bodywork and that usually become chipped with use, are intact, as are painted screws that are typically prone to rust.
Inside, the original Tartan Red interior which often fades in the sunlight is as bright as the day the car left the showroom more than half a century earlier. Even the optional safety belts that were fitted at the time of the car’s pre-delivery service sport the manufacturer’s original cardboard label.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO and Chairman of Woodham Mortimer, says: “This is a truly unique example of the iconic Mini and it is a privilege for Woodham Mortimer to offer it for sale. The car offers the unrepeatable opportunity to own what must be the world’s most original example of Britain’s most-loved classic car.”
