The Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin has unveiled its eagerly awaited Adlon Flower Atelier & Boutique just in time for the big build-up to Christmas.
The iconic Berlin hotel, renowned worldwide for excellence in its award-winning restaurants and exclusive suites, is fulfilling a long-cherished wish of its employees, guests and gift-seeking city residents.
What has been crafted behind the scenes for over 27 years since the legendary luxury hotel’s reopening is now being celebrated with a prestigious showcase featuring takeaway sales of the high-quality Adlon floristry and many popular Adlon souvenirs.
With its warm wooden walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, the classically elegant shop —centred around a large studio table— evokes the storied history of the grand hotel, adorned with impressive black-and-white photos of the former Hotel Adlon.
With the support of Managing Director Karina Ansos, the skilled team of three (lead image), led by Head Florist Mario Weidner, whose expertise has shaped the floral decor of this traditional hotel since 2001, has created a floral and gift paradise in the Adlon style at the Behrenstrasse entrance at the back of the renowned hotel.
“My team and I are thrilled to have revitalised the former Adlon Stube, which most recently housed a wine shop, according to our vision of blending a first-class flower studio and Adlon souvenir boutique — and we even had the chance to design our new uniform’, says the style expert.
“In addition to offering connoisseur gifts in the boutique, such as the Adlon bathrobe, hotel towels, Adlon books and the limited-edition Adlon Christmas baubles, interested shoppers can watch the creation of our floral art, which we use to freshly decorate all hotel areas every day.
“Visitors can treat themselves or their loved ones to a customised bouquet or select ready-made arrangements of the finest quality. The handcrafted nature of the concept allows for personalised expert advice and the chance to take part in the creation of bouquets and arrangements as well as individual specialist advice, which also makes floral dreams come true for weddings or any other wide variety of occasions,” said the passionate florist.
The long-lasting highlight of the colourful range of international flowers, featuring particularly large blooms such as the white amaryllis ‘Casablanca’ and roses with evocative names like ‘Pink Floyd’ or ‘Country Blues’—which are rarely available in the retail trade—remains the intense red, freeze-dried fine roses in the stylish black Adlon carrier bag.
The company’s own Adlon Rose has also been commissioned and is expected to go on sale at the beginning of 2026 after a cultivation period of approximately one year.
The selection of the timelessly elegant Adlon rose, which existed in a modified form many years ago, is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II’s first visit to the Adlon in 2015, during which the graceful apricot-yellow-pink iridescent flower attracted particular attention as a cut flower.
The new Adlon Rose will be available as a bedding rose in an even higher-quality pot and can be ordered worldwide exclusively from the cultivator in France under this certified name.
Another highlight of the shop at Behrenstrasse 72, which will initially be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00, will soon be the sale of the delicious Adlon Christmas stollen and personalised Adlon vouchers, e.g. for the Adlon Afternoon Tea or the new Adlon wellness area, as well as the various Adlon package deals for the festive season and New Year’s Eve, which are already limited due to the high demand in some Adlon locations.
