Although the weather has been less than accommodating in some parts of the UK recently, it’s not enough to dampen the British spirit. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate the last few weeks of summer, Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds has launched a quintessentially British afternoon tea alongside a new series of limited-edition BBQ dining experiences.
Set in 60 acres of open countryside, Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds is located in Northwood, within 35 minutes of central London and offers an idyllic country escape whether you’re seeking peace and quiet or a perfect family day out without having to venture outside London.
Afternoon Tea by Chef Joshua Hunter
There’s no more quintessential British activity than afternoon tea, and Joshua has designed a delectable spread for fans of this classic tradition, exclusively available between 25th July and 2nd September.
The hand-crafted afternoon tea offering includes a selection of delicious sandwiches, Holland & Holland sausage rolls, and sweet treats and cakes. Naturally, no afternoon tea is complete without scones, which are served with traditional strawberry jam and clotted cream.
The Holland & Holland afternoon tea is available from 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm, priced at £30.00 per person. To make it a real celebration, guests can instead opt for the English Sparkling Afternoon Tea for £42.00 per person, which includes the full afternoon tea menu alongside a glass of Exton Park sparkling wine.
The August BBQ Extravaganza
For the remaining Friday evenings in August, Chef Joshua Hunter and his team will be cooking up a feast on the Big Green Egg on The Terrace at the Grounds. On 18th August, the ‘Eastern Selection’ menu includes the likes of Shawarma spiced chicken thighs, roasted chilli sauce and yoghurt, Spiced lamb kofta with Tzatziki, and BBQ aubergine with cumin, tahini dressing, preserved lemons, chilli and coriander, rocket salad; all served with a selection of sides.
The BBQ on 25th August celebrates all things Mediterranean, with Garlic and lemon marinated tiger prawns and salmon, with salsa Verde, Mediterranean vegetable and mozzarella skewer, a chimichurri sauce, and ‘Tandoori marinated chicken, with a yoghurt dressing’.
The BBQ menu is priced at £25.00 per person, including all food, with the option to add buckets of beers, pitchers of cocktails, Pimms, or wine to accompany your al fresco dining experience.
For those looking for a full-day experience, guests can also reserve a late afternoon shooting slot before the BBQ in the evening, where experienced Holland & Holland instructors are on hand to guide novices, pros, and everyone in between.
