Audemars Piguet, the world-renowned watch company sponsors the official red carpet & luxury green room as well as hosts a charity clock auction to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The 66th Annual Tony Awards were held on June 10th 2012 and for the fourth consecutive year Audemars Piguet was proud to act as the presenting sponsor of the Tony Awards Red Carpet. For the second consecutive year the company also sponsored the backstage luxury Green Room experience (conceptualized by partnership development firm, Axcess Worldwide) as well as organized an innovative online charity clock auction to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. At The Broadway League, Nick Scandalios is Chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is Executive Director. At the American Theatre Wing, Theodore S. Chapin is Chairman and Heather Hitchens is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Alan Wasser and Allan Williams of Alan Wasser Associates are the General Managers. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment are the Executive Producers of the 2012 Tony Awards. Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2012 Tony Awards.
Audemars Piguet timepieces were worn by Tony Award nominee Elizabeth Davis of Once, Max von Essen currently starring in the Broadway revival of Evita, and Constantine Maroulis of Rock of Ages. Ms. Davis wore the elegant rose gold Selfwinding Royal Oak set with 40 brilliant-cut diamonds, Mr. von Essen wore the stainless steel Selfwinding Royal Oak and Mr. Maroulis wore a rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph with matching Royal Oak cufflinks.
Audemars Piguet has teamed up with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to create a unique auction off Audemars Piguet wall clocks. The eight one-of-a-kind aluminum wall clocks were displayed along the red carpet and were decorated by the nominees for Best Musical and Best Musical Revival (Evita, Follies, Jesus Christ Superstar, Leap of Faith, Newsies, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Once, and The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess) to represent each one of this season’s musicals. A ninth clock was signed by nominated actors attending last month’s Meet the Nominees reception. The auction opens from June 13thth through June 25th on leading charity auction site www.charitybuzz.com.
