Tucked away among the Michelin-starred restaurants and swanky five-star hotels, is Mayfair’s only concept nail and beauty boutique with a reputation that’s as envied as the area it’s in.
The salon is effortlessly chic, in keeping with its high-brow surroundings. There’s a white-on-white colour scheme, marble accents, a glistening nail bar and fresh bouquets on display. Scandi minimalism comes to mind.
Upstairs, technicians transform unruly brows, while others tend to customers with glasses of champagne. Despite every chair almost always being full, the salon has a calming feel.
Nails & Brows was launched in 2014 by industry expert Sherrille Riley, whose client list spans celebrities, models and socialites.
And it’s a salon with a difference. There are no extreme measures taken and instead, it’s all about embracing your natural beauty with techniques and products that are gentle on your skin and the environment.
I’d excitedly hurried over to review the salon’s newest treatment – the ‘Audrey Brow’.
The salon’s latest brow makeover is a modern take on Audrey Hepburn’s iconic eyebrow shape, which focuses on timelessness. Sherrille has fashioned the shape with less focus on the arches plus tapering towards the edges, so it’ll suit all ages and face shapes. By lifting the brow, it gives the eye area an instant lift.
As with all Nail & Brow treatments, mine was completely bespoke. There are no rush jobs – all appointments are treated with care and consideration, whether it’s a brow makeover, a lash tint or an organic manicure.
My therapist took the time to adjust the ‘Audrey Brow’ for my face, and chatted me through the procedure before starting, making sure I was comfortable. She explained she’d been preening eyebrows for 19 years so I felt in very safe hands.
Handing me a mirror, she proceeded to demonstrate the final stages of the treatment to help me re-create the shape at home. The result? Beautifully transformed brows that looked effortlessly elegant. They’d never looked so great.
You might expect to wait weeks for a booking at such a reputable salon, but as I mentioned earlier, this one’s different. You’re free to drop in on your lunch break or even before your holiday for some pre-flight pampering. There’s also a private room for waxes, or facials and massages to really unwind.
