At the end of January, the highly anticipated Walled Garden at Bamburgh reached its first milestone with the opening of its café – marking Phase One of an ambitious restoration project. By spring 2025, the transformation of this once-derelict space at the heart of the village will be complete.

The garden at Bamburgh is set to become a vibrant visitor attraction, thanks to a café built on the footprint of historic glasshouses, a children’s playground, a labyrinth, and a seashell sensory garden.

In addition, more than 30 newly planted native trees will further enhance the landscape, blending history with natural beauty.
