Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts will open Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay in September 2016. It is the first Banyan Tree property on the Mediterranean coast, and the first all-pool villa resort in Morocco
Located on the northeast coast of Morocco in Tamouda Bay, the resort is a 20-minute drive from the charming city of Tetouan, and international visitors can arrive via Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier. A tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the region, Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay will feature arched doorways, clean lines, earth tones and intricate Moroccan moucharaby wood panels. The resort will be home to the world-renowned Banyan Tree spa along with a hammam, a beach club, a state of the art gym library and kids club.
Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay will offer 92 of the largest resort villas in Morocco and each comes complete with a lush garden and private pool. Many offer direct access to the beach and all feature classic Moroccan-style architecture and décor.
Tamouda Bay in Northeast Morocco is a brand new, hidden gem of a destination where the tourists are few and the culture is authentic and real. Visitors to this untouched destination can discover The UNESCO World Heritage city of Tetouan, the ‘blue town’ of Chefchaouen nestled in the mountains and the art deco jewels and literary cafes of Tangier.
Delivering Banyan Tree’s world-renowned, Asian-inspired spa tradition using a “high touch, low tech” approach, skilled Banyan Tree therapists will deliver total relaxation and rejuvenation. This opulent new spa will feature six Deluxe Treatment Rooms, two Royal Treatment Rooms, a Hydro and Vitality Pool, Hammam and a special Yoga Room.
The only resort in the region to offer a Destination Dining experience – guests will be able to choose from a relaxed dinner by the beach, or a Moroccan feast under a traditional tent. With four restaurants and 24-hour in-villa dining, guests can also enjoy savoury Moroccan delicacies, Mediterranean-inspired seafood dishes and international favourites.
Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay will be a haven for families with a dedicated Kids Club designed to engage and entertain for those aged 4 to 12 as well as a Kids Pool in addition to the main pool. For shopping fans, The Banyan Tree Gallery will open on site with an impressive emporium of Moroccan objets d’art, resort apparel and signature spa amenities to purchase. Fitness buffs can enjoy heart-pumping cardio or a strengthening weights session at the gym while yoga enthusiasts can practice their poses at the Yoga Room.
Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay boasts a huge variety of activities from hiking in the nearby Rif Mountains to surfing on the Med. Thrill seekers can enjoy scuba diving, wakeboarding and jet-skiing along the bay itself whilst for horse-riders, Cabo Negro provides a picturesque backdrop for horseback safaris along the sandy beaches.
