Ong Chin Huat pays a visit to Bentley’s Be Extraordinary Tour in Bentley Kuala Lumpur’s new showroom and leaves a devoted fan.
Nothing spells status and success more than being behind the wheel of a Bentley. It’s a symbol that shows one has arrived and a statement to the world that you have exquisite taste. Whether you are chauffeur driven or steering it yourself, the experience of owning a Bentley is second to none.
With that in mind, it is not surprising that Bentley has embarked on a highly anticipated brand experience to six countries which includes Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. Aptly named the Be Extraordinary Tour, this immersive experiential tour offers all those lucky enough to be invited a chance to glimpse into the rarified world of owning a Bentley.
From how the beautiful leather seats are made to the hand-stitching of the steering wheel, every minute detail of Bentley’s meticulous craftsmanship and its rich heritage is showcased in this exhibition.
History buffs and nostalgia lovers would revel in learning about past Bentley aficionados such as three-times Le Mans winner and former chairman of Bentley Motors Wolf Barnato, Dr. Joseph Dudley Benjafield, a famous Harley Street bacteriologist and one of Bentley’s most skillful drivers and lady-racing pioneer Mary Petre Bruce who was the first woman to circumnavigate the world alone among other distinguished people who were all fortunate enough to own and drive or race a Bentley.
For the Malaysia leg of this Be Extraordinary Tour, Bentley Kuala Lumpur specially commissioned a limited edition Continental GT V8 S ‘X’ incorporating special features such as Blackline kit, dark tint on the front and rear lamps and carbon fibre door mirror to accentuate its sporty appeal.
This tour also saw the Malaysian debut of the majestic Mulsanne Speed, the pinnacle flagship of this impressive brand. Featuring a more powerful version of the twin-turbo V8 engine, the new Mulsanne Speed has a 537 PS (530 bhp/395 kW), 1,100 Nm (811 lb.ft) of torque and selectable sports suspension.
With a sprint of 0 to 100 km per hour in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph, this beauty boasts unrivalled figures in the ultra-luxury sector.
