Bombardier Vision Flight Deck is the industry’s first to feature synthetic vision imagery on head-up display
Bombardier Aerospace have announced the first customer delivery of its Vision Flight Deck on a Global 6000 aircraft. The aircraft, to be operated by Wideworld Services Ltd., was delivered during a special ceremony at Bombardier’s facilities in Dorval, Canada, on March 31, 2012.
“We are very proud to operate the first Vision Flight Deck on a Global 6000 jet,” said Captain Edward Murray, Chief Pilot, Wideworld Services Ltd. “The new flight deck was a deciding factor in us choosing the Global aircraft, and we are very excited to fly this state-of-the-art flight deck.”
Bombardier Aerospace and Rockwell Collins are the first to certify synthetic vision imagery on a head-up display (HUD) as part of the Pro Line Fusion® avionics system on the Vision Flight Deck. The Vision Flight Deck for Global jets received EASA certification on February 20, 2012, FAA certification on February 29, 2012, and Transport Canada (TC) certification on June 3, 2011.

The Vision Flight Deck is featured on Global 5000 and Global 6000 jets.
Vision Flight Deck: A breakthrough in business aviation, the Vision Flight Deck is designed to deliver a completely new cockpit experience. The Vision Flight Deck introduces the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, providing an integrated flight deck to ensure interoperability between systems.
Pro Line Fusion for the Vision Flight Deck on Global aircraft features four high-resolution 15-inch diagonal active matrix liquid crystal displays (LCD) arranged in a T-shape working in concert with the Head-up Guidance System (HGS™), personalized formats of display information, an electronic checklist, maps with graphical flight planning, an integrated cursor control panel, a Synthetic-Enhanced Vision System, paperless operation enabled by Dual Electronics Charts, a Future Air Navigation System (FANS), Controller-Pilot Datalink Communication (CPDLC), a Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) and a MultiScan™ Weather Detection system.

As the Vision Flight Deck enters service, customers will be able to count on the full range of Bombardier support and services around the world from the outset. Flight and maintenance manuals have been updated and an easy-to-use navigation instruction tool is available for download from a special Vision Flight Deck section of Bombardier Customer Services’ Customer Information Centre (CIC) website. The popular Bombardier SmartFix Plus online troubleshooting tool is ready to provide detailed recommendations should the need arise.
Bombardier’s expanding worldwide network of parts facilities is being stocked with unique Vision Flight Deck parts. Bombardier Customer Services team members, deployed around the world, are fully trained and ready to support customers and foster a smooth entry-into-service. Bombardier’s expansive maintenance network, made up of wholly owned facilities as well as Authorized Service Facilities, is also ready to support Vision Flight Deck operators at entry-into-service, and its training centres are ready to provide high-quality, OEM-backed flight and technical training.
