Briston Watches has introduced three new colours to its popular 60s-styled Clubmaster Sport collection. The new colour styles were inspired by a touch of British tradition and the overall result is a stylish, affordable timepiece that is suitable for both leisure and light adventure.
I hold my hands up and admit I wasn’t overly familiar with Briston watches until recently. This is purely down to their being so many watch brands in the marketplace and is no reflection on this fine French watch brand.
The brand’s launch of some new colour styles gave me the perfect excuse to begin some thorough research and based on what I uncovered, I’m impressed. Their timepieces are distinctive, attractive and deserving of the spotlight.
It’s common knowledge that the French are very nationalistic, so it was very refreshing when I learned that one of their companies, Briston Watches, has taken some of its inspiration from life in our green and pleasant land.
The Oxford and Cambridge students have been one area of inspiration for Briston Watches, particularly their sporting contests such as the Boat Race and University cricket matches. They’ve used these century-old contests and traditions in their styling, which has resulted in the watch brand’s unique character.
Briston Watches are fans of innovative materials such as cellulose acetate. The colours produced by materials such as this gives Briston watches a distinctive look. Visually, the watches offer the perfect balance between a contemporary “timepiece” and a chic accessory for both men and women.
For 2021, Briston has introduced three new colours to its Clubmaster Sport range. There are ice blue, green olive, and grey taupe, all decorated with Briston’s iconic sunray dial finish and two black counters.
The Clubmaster Sport watches come in a 40mm cambered square case and tortoiseshell acetate with a handmade polished finish along with ultra-resistant mineral crystal glass. The models in the range contain a quartz movement and are also water-resistant to 100m which makes them an ideal go-anywhere watch that isn’t going to break the bank.
About Briston Watches
Brice Jaunet, the founder of Briston Watches, has been working in the luxury watch industry for more than 15 years. Watches are his passion, and using his extensive knowledge of the industry; he decided to form Briston Watches. His goal is to create affordable timepieces that are stylish and reliable, meeting the needs of current-day consumers.
Briston has created its unique style by celebrating its strong classical watchmaking DNA alongside innovative raw materials in various colours. By using cellulose acetate, a material more commonly associated with the eyewear industry, produces a distinctive look and colouring across the product range.
Cellulose acetate is a key aspect of the French watch brand’s DNA. The cellulose they use comes from Italy and is hypoallergenic, and is made with cotton fibres and flower. Another of the distinctive style aspects incorporated into the Briston Watches is the classic NATO style strap which was something Brice wanted to help differentiate his brand from the very early days of the company.
I have had my eyes opened to this stylish French brand and spent plenty of time browsing their collections. The three new colours are eye-catching and can combine with any outfit. They are elegant yet affordable, meeting the desire of the founder.
If you are in the market for a new men’s watch or want to add to your collection, take a look at the Clubmaster Sport range and for something a little different with ‘Facteur Wow’, take a look through their range of Streamliner Skeleton watches.
