Butcher’s, the well-known manufacturer of Dog Food, recently surveyed people across Britain on topics including the most popular celebrity to go on a dog walk with and the increasing trend of holidaying with dogs. In addition to proving Britain is ‘bonkers’ about dogs, the company also launched a competition and invited Pete Wicks and his French Bulldog Eric to take part in a one-off photoshoot.
They say a Man’s best friend is his dog; well, it turns out the same can be said for women. Results from the survey by Butcher’s Food show that 1 in 3 Brits state they would not be in a relationship with someone who disliked dogs. It would appear that on a first date, it’s best not to ask about something as mundane as a favourite colour; instead, if they want a dog!
Butcher’s Food also launched a competition hosted by the television personality Pete Wicks who had his French Bulldog Eric with him. The company is giving away £1k cash, a year’s supply of Butcher’s Nourishing Food For Dogs Healthy Heart recipes, and a personalised dog food bowl.
Pete and Eric participated in a hilarious shoot recreating famous movie scenes, following data revealing that the average UK dog owner watches five movies a week with their dog snuggled up to them.
The competition runs alongside the launch of Butcher’s new Healthy Heart range. The new product line is recommended by vets and created by the brand’s nutritionist. Each Healthy Heart recipe has the correct amount of active ingredients to support a healthy heart and help your dog.
Wicks said, “This shoot has to be one of the most random but fun ones I’ve ever done. I never thought I’d be cuddling up with Eric recreating a scene from Lady and the Tramp, but here we are. In all seriousness, though, it’s been excellent working with Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs.
“They’ve also launched an exclusive competition. Share a snap or video of yourself enjoying a meal with your dog on social media, tagging @butchersdogfood and using the hashtag #foodislove to enter and for your chance to win £1K cash, a year’s supply of Butcher’s Nourishing Food For Dogs Healthy Heart recipes and a personalised dog food bowl.”
“10 runners up will bag themselves a six-month supply of Healthy Heart product for their dog and a personalised dog food bowl each.”
The survey has unveiled just how dog-obsessed Britain is, with a third of those asked admitting their dog is like a child to them.
The answers also revealed the top male and female celebrities that people would most like to go on a dog walk with. Holly Willoughby and Ben Fogle were the most popular choices, closely followed by Alan Carr and Stacey Solomon. Some of the other people who made the top ten list were Miranda Hart, James Martin, Helen Skelton, Peter Kay and Claire Balding.
