From the 1st of January until the 12th of January 2025, the Butterfly Patisserie in Rosewood Hong will be offering a spectacular Galette des Rois, or King’s Cake as it is also known, which has been reimagined by Executive Pastry Chef Jonathan Soukdeo.
Galette des Rois holds a rich and fascinating history that dates back to Roman times. It is a traditional French pastry typically enjoyed on Epiphany, which falls on the 6th of January, to celebrate the arrival of the Three Wise Men to visit the baby Jesus.
This tradition of sharing the Galette des Rois has been a beloved custom in France for centuries, bringing families and friends together to enjoy this delicious treat and partake in the holiday season’s festivities.
Chef Jonathan Soukdeo’s indulgent, flakey puff pastry interpretation will be available for a limited time and will be available in two special flavours. The price is HK$428 for the Classic Almond (with custard cream of almond frangipane) and HK$498 for the Chestnut Wild Berry King Cake (with custard chestnut almond cream, blackcurrant frangipane).
These Galette des Rois creations promise a regal experience for all.
To experience one of these royal treats, visit Rosewood Hong Kong’s online shop here and pre-order your Galette des Rois from Butterfly Patisserie today.
