Throughout Christmas, Carnaby welcomed the world with an exciting display of iconic moments from the past 25 years. Now the time has come for a piece of that history to be given to a new home, and in doing so, support the work of Choose Love.
Members of the public will have the chance to own a part of the Christmas installation, either a Rolling Stones disc or a robin, in exchange for a donation to charity partner, Choose Love.
Visitors will be invited to 15-17 Foubert’s Place, Carnaby, on Thursday, 9th February, 12 – 2 pm, where they will be able to secure an exclusive piece. The suggested donation starting point is £5, and all the proceeds will go to the Choose Love charity to help refugees and displaced communities.
Carnaby is located in the heart of London’s West End and plays host to around 100 retail brands of quality and distinction, along with more than 60 independent restaurants, cafes and bars spread across 14 streets, including the world-famous Carnaby Street, which is as iconic experiential shopping, dining and leisure destination.
Choose Love has raised millions to support refugees and created a movement of people putting love into action worldwide. By purchasing a Carnaby Robin or a Rolling Stones record disc, the community will be donating crucial funds to continue this work.
Simon Quayle, Executive Director at Shaftesbury, said, “This is an opportunity for visitors to take home a piece of history in return for a donation. We are delighted to support Choose Love for another year, who are continually working hard to raise funds for humanitarian aid and are helping to support refugees worldwide who need crucial life-saving funds.”
The world-famous Carnaby area of London is part of a 16-acre property portfolio owned and managed by Shaftesbury. The area managed by the company extends to other prosperous areas, which include Chinatown, and Seven Dials, along with substantial ownerships in Soho, Fitzrovia and East and West Covent Garden.
The company is focused on the sustainable reuse of existing buildings to minimise environmental impact. In addition to its support of charitable organisations, it is also involved with local social issues and works closely with community groups, schools and the Arts.
Phillip Boyle, Director of Partnerships at Choose Love, added, “Our favourite collaboration of the year, with the lovely folks at Carnaby, is like the gift that keeps on giving! Our Choose Love pop-up is now closed until later in the year, but here is another beautiful and exciting way that everyone can still get involved and help us continue to support refugees and displaced people. You can buy iconic pieces from the Carnaby Christmas installation and know that you’re making a positive impact in the world at the same time.”
