For the 7th consecutive year Chopard has been the official time keeper and partner of “Ennstal-Classic”, a prestigious classic car rallye with the motto “Driving in the last paradise”.
This past Saturday Chopard held the traditional Chopard VIP Brunch at the Ennstal-Classic. Many Formula 1 and rallye legends attended including such luminaries as: Sir Stirling Moss with Lady Susie, “Monsieur Le Mans“ Jacky Icx, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Walter Röhrl, Dieter Quester, Peter Sauber, Rauno Aaltonen and Jo Ramirez.
Motoring Legend Jacky Ickx, joined by a multitude fans, attended the Ennstal-Classic for the first time and commented: “At the Ennstal-Classic you can really feel the friendship among the former rallye drivers. Austria has borne many important Formula 1 drivers like Niki Lauda, Jochen Rindt, Gerhard Berger and Alexander Wurz”.
The organiser of the Ennstal-Classic, Helmut Zwickl, was very pleased to welcome Jacky Ickx, “I was waiting for him for more than 20 years to come to Gröbming“.
Karl-Friedrich Scheufele welcomed the guests and pointed out the paradisiac landscape and the relaxed atmosphere of the event where the classic car passionates can share their experiences and impressions.
The Chopard Racecar Trophy is an independent competition (first established in 2013) and took place wih 43 participants at the same time than the Ennstal-Classic. The owners of historic race- and rallye-cars are able to drive their motoring jewels within beautiful surroundings and experience at the same time the legendary aura of the Ennstal-Classic. The competitions are more of a sporty type when compared to the one’s at the Ennstal-Classic and are rounded off with the final Chopard Grand Prix in Gröbming.
