Fortnum & Mason has launched their world-famous, festive, and fun Christmas Bazaar on the First Floor.
This year, the display is inspired by no fewer than five Christmas themes: Traditional Christmas, Natural Elegance, Opulence, Winter Frost and Nostalgia. Fortnum & Mason has taken the legend of Dick Whittington and the romance of the City of London as the inspiration of Christmas 2012.
Traditional customs, old skills, storytelling, mayorial processional carriages and the Bow Bells all provide the theatrical inspiration behind Christmas at Fortnum & Mason and have inspired a selection of Christmas gifts including The Lord Mayor’s Hat Box, Christmas Tea Carriage and Square Mile Salted Caramels.
Rich jewel tones and wonderfully lavish accessories and gifts are celebrated in the area named Opulence, which is filled with a treasure chest of decorations, including exotic hand-embroidered velvet and pearl Christmas decorations and favours from our favourite designers. Wrap up warm before you visit our wonderful Winter Frost section, where a cornucopia of crisp winter accessories in snowy whites, and opalescent opaque glass ornaments will tempt you into having a crisp white Christmas this year.
The Nostalgia room takes you on a trip down memory lane, as it is filled with candy colours, comforting felt decorations and delicate hand-painted paper. For Christmas Craft, there is no better place to come.
The Christmas Bazaar features our extensive range of exclusive Fortnum & Mason crackers for every taste. Among the choices are Famous for Tea which contains a tin of our classic loose-leaf teas and a silver-plated F&M caddy spoon £100, Splendid Sweets containing a charming wooden tree decoration, £12 and Christmas Carriage (£50) which contains a wooden tree decoration and depicts a classic English icon.
