Natasha Godbold’s Suggestion
Our gift guide wouldn’t be complete without some special Christmas Gift suggestions from the owners of Luxurious Magazine, Natasha and Paul Godbold. Although both prefer to stay out of the limelight, rarely choosing to experience any of the amazing opportunities presented to the magazine, they are in fact, the most prolific writers on the team, rarely crediting themselves along with doing every task you could imagine behind the scenes.
Sal De Riso GOLD PANETTONE
As an incredibly strange 2020 draws to a close many of us deserve an extra special treat. One of the best ways is to this is to experience something delicious and if possible somewhat exclusive. Natasha’s suggestion for the Christmas Gift Guide is the Sal De Riso GOLD PANETTONE.
This very special panettone is prepared over 60 hours using an over 60-year-old mother yeast and the finest ingredients including two varieties of Venezuelan 72% chocolate, both renowned for their rich, dark flavours and notes of almonds and coffee. Aside from its delicious taste, this Panettone is covered in a luxurious layer of edible gold leaf. Eating a cake as incredible as this over the festive season is guaranteed to make this years celebration a truly memorable one.
To make sure that this treasure arrives in peak condition, the panettone is presented on a china plate and packed in a gold gift box.
Price: £200 for 1Kg

Paul Godbold’s Suggestion
Verite ‘La Muse’ 2013
“Goodness, what a year it’s been! Thankfully it does seem we’re beginning to win the war against the Coronavirus and with a vaccine now being administered things are starting to look far rosier. This very strange year has been one of adapting and change. Around the world, many people have successfully embarked on new ways of working and changed some of their priorities as have I.”
“Throughout the year, I’ve tried to help as many businesses as possible which have made me extremely happy. In addition to this, we’re moving home to greener pastures in the new year, and I have even embraced wine which brings me onto my personal choice for the Christmas Gift Guide.” – Paul Godbold.
Paul has picked the Verite ‘La Muse’ 2013 which was awarded 100 points by Robert Parker, one of the world’s most influential wine critics.
So what is it that makes Verite wines so special and an ideal choice to see-off 2020 and welcome 2021? One of the clues could be in the name. Vérité is French for ‘truth’, and these wines are produced from a combination of new world fruit and old-world experience.
Each of Verite’s wines is blended with multiple unique components harvested from small vineyard blocks. The incredible taste is born from a combination of specific grape varieties, the climate, soil and of course, incredible technique. This methodology is known as Droit du sol which translates in English to “right of the soil.”
The Verite wines are a deep dark red colour. The aroma is rich and spicey with subtle hints of the forest floor. The taste is a combination of flavours where black cherry, truffle and liquorice flavours come together to produce a delicious tasting wine. Although Paul’s preference is for the 2013, he has told me that any of the Verite wines would be an ideal way to enhance Christmas.
Price for the Verite ‘La Muse’ 2013 is £392.
It is available from Hedonism Wines via www.hedonism.co.uk.
