Two years after their licensing partnership with the Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati, and the introduction of the Ducati City Pearl e-bikes, Italwin now reveal two new Ducati branded pedelecs for Europe. Evolving from the original project, the new models use exciting new features to further strengthen this unique collaboration.
The City King and the City Queen models are available in two versions, with a top-of-the-range model featuring the new iTorq® system and internal gear hub, and an aggressively-priced high-end “speed sensor” version with traditional gear.
Combining the advantages of the popular speed sensor and refined torque sensor systems, iTorq is a sensitive and accurate power management system, which provides assistance profiles to suit every need. Eliminating the on-off effect between pedal strokes, the bike can be ridden at any speed with acceleration remaining slow, progressive or brisk as desired with revised electronics and software delivering enhanced efficiency with more mileage and near silent operation.
Hydroformed in light alloy tubing, the frame remains unchanged, while the front fork moves from monoshock to the classic type for added stiffness. Both versions have a city-bike type handlebar with conventional stem, providing a more upright position for the rider and enabling the attachment of a child seat. Furthermore, the tyres now sport an increased cross-section to provide enhanced comfort on bumpy city roads and increased stability when crossing city tram tracks.
Currently available in Europe only, the new electric bikes by Italwin are offered in the three stylish Ducati motorcycle colours of pearl white, Ducati red and metallic anthracite.
