Côte Restaurants has launched a unique pop-up called Côte on the Square to mark the start of the summer outdoor dining season. The pop-up is part of the area’s ‘Summer in the Square’ experience and will showcase a selection of the popular restaurant’s French-inspired classic dishes.
Côte on the Square, in the heart of Chelsea, is in partnership with the renowned champagne brand Laurent-Perrier and will offer a menu specially designed for lazy afternoons, after-work apéritifs with friends or weekend sundowners.
This is the second year for Cote after last year proved a phenomenal success at the stunning outdoor setting in Chelsea’s most famous Square. The popular collaboration offers plenty of open-air seating, delicious food and drink surrounded by colourful bunting and twinkling festoon lights as the sun goes down.
Supported by Cadogan and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, ‘Summer in the Square’ is part of a borough-wide initiative to encourage the neighbourhood’s café culture. It will be complemented by a packed programme of summer events, beginning with London’s largest free flower festival, Chelsea in Bloom.
The Cote on the Square menu has been specially created by Steve Allen, Cote executive chef and former executive chef for Gordon Ramsay.
The highly respected chef who has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants joined Cote last year and has focused on fresh seasonal ingredients to showcase classic French cuisine.
Dishes include freshly prepared baguettes, Salade Rachel, smoked salmon, crab on toast, roast boeuf, and the Côte Sharing Board featuring a selection of cured French meats such as truffle saucisson sec and Coppa del sec, alongside a creamy baked French Camembert with a crispy herb breadcrumb.
The menu also features our new ‘for the table’ section, which launched on Cote’s main Spring menu last month and includes Cheese Gougeres, Fougasse and allumette potatoes.
The menu also includes delicious desserts, including crème caramel, chocolate mousse, strawberries & crème fraiche, ice cream, sorbets, cheese, and biscuits.
The Côte on the Square menu also features the breadth of the decadent Laurent-Perrier Champagne range, alongside a selection of timeless cocktails with a twist, including our iconic twist on an Aperol Spritz, the Pampelle Spritz, Kir Royale, French 75 along with a selection of gin and tonics, beers, ciders and soft drinks. This joins Cote’s comprehensive list of chilled rosés, crisp whites and reds, perfect for enjoying in the Sloane Square sunshine.
Cote’s Executive Chef, Steve Allen, has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Petrus, and he opened Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, which won a Michelin star within its first year.
Steve said of Cote on the Square’s menu, “We have created a menu of perfect French Al Fresco food to recreate the feeling of dining outside in Paris. From our Emmenthal cheese gougeres to our famous crème caramel, this menu features dishes that are great to share or enjoy with a glass of wine in the square.
“Cote on the Square is the perfect opportunity to showcase our French cuisine in an outdoor setting reminiscent of a Parisian square. From light sharing dishes and freshly baked baguettes to a selection of desserts, all from our Cote Spring menu.”
Côte on the Square launches Friday, April 28, just in time for guests to enjoy some bank holiday outdoor dining and cocktails. The special pop-up will stay open throughout the Summer (end of September likely close date) and will open seven days a week (weather permitting!).
