Similarly, in Hamburg, East hotel has Yakshi’s Bar, Smirnoff Lounge, Lounge Nº Ten and Uppereast, four nightspots for a relaxed beer with friends or dancing until morning.
Gramercy Park Hotel, New York, USA
With two bars and its famous rooftop bar – known for hosting many celebrity and society parties – the iconic Gramercy Park Hotel is synonymous with style, class and glamour. The Rose and Jade Bars are two of the most vibrant spaces in New York and hearken back to the golden age of the cocktail hour. Designed by Julian Schnabel, the eclectically sophisticated bars feature world-class art by the likes of Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The hotel also hosts regular ‘Rose Bar Sessions’ that welcome hotel guests and select locals to enjoy art, literature, music, fashion and food events. For a relaxed dining experience, the hotel’s Maialino Restaurant captures the warmth and comfort of a traditional Roman trattoria, while the hotel’s 18th floor terrace becomes the it-spot at nightfall with dazzling views.
Puro Oasis Urbano, Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Home to DJs, artists and even members of the Spanish Royal family, Mallorca rivals Ibiza as a chic address for partygoers. Located in the center of the historic, shopping district of Palma’s old town La Lonja, Puro Oasis Urbano’s Restaurant and Bar Opio is a popular hangout all year round. With the opening of a new private wing in early 2011, Puro Oasis Urbano doubled its rooms and unveiled fresh spaces including a new VIP extension to Opio Restaurant and Bar. Casual, cosmopolitan and cool sum up the ambience and crowd of locals and travelers who enjoy music from international DJs. With Mediterranean-Asian snacks and cocktails, guests can relax by the bar, in the lounge or on the roofdeck with its plunge pool, cushioned seating areas and canopied daybeds. For a place to unwind or recover from the night before, the property’s PuroBeach includes a spa, pool and restaurant lounge overlooking Palma Bay.
East Hotel and Restaurant, Hamburg, Germany
Stylishly designed by Chicago-based architect Jordan Mozer, this 127-room hotel is housed in a modern building that was once an iron works. With four bars for dancing, drinking and private parties, the hotel has become a beloved spot in Hamburg for area residents and visitors alike. On weekdays, Yakshi Bar is the place for after-work drinks with an impressive selection of over 250 cocktails, spirits, wines and champagnes. Guests in search of a venue to host a private party can choose from the Smirnoff Lounge decked out in the brand’s signature red or the Lounge Nº Ten’s “room with a view.” The bar and music lounge Uppereast features 150sqm of large LED-screens spread on the walls and ceiling and is the place to see and be seen.
The Weinmeister Berlin-Mitte / Lux 11, Berlin
A trip to Berlin wouldn’t be complete without a taste of the city’s legendary nightlife. One of the most happening addresses in Europe is the pulsating fashion district of Mitte. The Lodge at Lux 11, located right at its center, is the place for lovers of the fashion, music and club scene with its urban-rustic décor of stone, wood and a fireplace that alludes to a comforting alpine sanctuary. Fresh from a recent makeover, the bar is a meeting place for locals and traveling tastemakers who come together to enjoy classic mixers or discover unusual cocktails from the in-house mixologist. The Lodge is the brainchild of the team behind Schwarz Bar at nearby The Weinmeister hotel. Named after German actress Jessica Schwarz, the bar is the exclusive seller of her family’s herbal liquor, SCHWARZ, and also specializes in schnapps. Open 24hours, the bar serves breakfast around the clock and is a favorite among partygoers who crave toast, sausages and eggs after a long night out.
