A beautiful housing project in Scott’s Head, fully funded by Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Programme, is nearly finished. These housing units are fortified against inclement weather and built with reinforced concrete and masonry blockwork. The housing project constitutes a major step towards Dominica’s journey towards climate resilience.
Unveiled by Melissa Poponne Skerrit, Dominica’s Minister of Housing, the Scott’s Head housing development will offer stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It purports to be among the most impressive housing projects in Dominica.
Brought to life through the country’s CBI Programme, the Scott’s Head housing is one of ten planned housing projects in Dominica.
Dominica’s standout CBI Programme is a leader in the region, funding social welfare and environmental sustainability initiatives that benefit everyday Dominicans.
Writing on her Facebook page, Minister Melissa Skerrit noted, “We are providing new homes just in time after Hurricane Beryl’s impact on the island’s southern tip. The Ministry of Housing is working diligently to bring this vision to life!”
The Minister also noted the importance of the sustainable housing project for building safe and comfortable communities across the country.
The residential project, which spans 12,207 square metres, comprises three-bedroom bungalow units and single-bedroom duplexes. The bungalow unit includes a living room and kitchen area, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a patio.
Single-bedroom units also include a living room and kitchen, a bathroom and a veranda.
The project, which is 95% complete to date, is set to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year. MMC Development supervises the project and local contractors.
The housing project constitutes one of many social projects funded through Dominica’s CBI Programme.
