Safety features
DS 7 CROSSBACKs across the range are fitted with lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking as standard. In addition, the Prestige and Ultra Prestige variants also offer lane-keep assist (very useful on long motorway drives), extended traffic sign recognition, a lane departure warning alert, drive attention alert and blind spot detection. I especially liked the fact that the doors and boot lock automatically when the car started moving.
Boot and passenger space
The rear seats have sufficient legroom for long-legged adults, while ISOFIX child attachments are standard. There’s an armrest with two cup holders in the rear, and two levers – one for window control, and the other for angle adjustment of the rear seats which split 60/40 with adjustable backrest.
Privacy windows on the rear windows are ideal for changing out of shorts into jeans on a chilly Brighton beach day. British summer where are you? The rear floor is flat (with a lower space below for hidden storage or maximising room) – no odd pillars here – making entry and exit easy and providing more storage. Talking of which, the boot capacity in the DS 7 CROSSBACK is a generous 555 litres. This means that there is plenty of room for golf clubs, family suitcases and most-importantly, shopping.
Boutique showrooms
DS Automobiles has over 35 showrooms across the UK and is expanding its network in cities with new building developments housing a new showroom at Chiswick in London and another in Birmingham. Known as a DS Store, the immersive purchase experience is tailored to each buyer’s requirements. Owners can download the MyDS app and get access to additional packages such as DS Assistance, DS Club Privilege, DS Valet and DS Rent. With a presence in 32 countries, the DS brand is on target to have 400 DS Stores and DS Salons across the world by the end of 2019.
