Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Duddell’s has announced that Duddell’s HKIA is now open within Hong Kong’s buzzing International Airport. Duddell’s HKIA follows on from the flagship in Central district and offers global travellers Cantonese comfort food within a casual setting.
On the latest opening, Yenn Wong, CEO of the JIA Group and Co-Founder of Duddell’s comments: “We are delighted to be introducing a new Duddell’s to Hong Kong International Airport – an important meeting point for travellers from all across the globe. This latest iteration will reveal to the public a more casual side of the brand, but one that is just as refined and reflective of all that has made Duddell’s a standout venue from the JIA Group.”
Travellers can enjoy a signature dim sum as well as twists on Cantonese favourites, all freshly steamed, roasted and stir-fried on site. Dishes include Braised abalone rice with scallop and scallion, Pork shrimp and conpoy dumpling, fresh Rice rolls with fillings including barbecued pork or shrimp, and Abalone puffs with diced chicken. There are also plenty of vegetarian options including new plant-based dishes.
Duddell’s HKIA also welcomes a much-anticipated new item to the menu: a delectable Roast Goose (HK$400 half / HK$800 whole). Pre-marinated for two days using only the finest geese from the famed city of Foshan, the dish ensures the perfect meat-to-fat ratio by using birds roasted at just the right size.
Fresh and crispy, each is cooked to perfection in one of two on-site roasting ovens, and accompanied with Duddell’s housemade plum sauce. Serving as the ultimate Hong Kong-centric souvenirs, a Roast Goose Giftbox and an X.O. Sauce Giftbox is available for travellers to take home. Both come in stylish, travel-friendly packaging that preserves flavours and freshness through transit.
A curated variety of drinks, including premium cold brew tea and bottled kombucha — both rarities at the airport are also on offer along with freshly prepared Hong Kong classic milk tea, Yuan Yang (coffee and tea blended with milk), cold-pressed juices and beer.
Customers have the option of dining within the food court’s communal area or having their meals packaged to takeaway. As well as ordering from an extensive menu, a convenient grab-and-go selection of just-prepared hot meals, including Barbecued pork and Soya chicken bento boxes, are available. Duddell’s meals offer a welcome alternative to food and drink options served in-flight, bringing an elevated culinary experience to 30,000 feet.
Perfectly aligning with its ever-evolving nature, this exciting latest iteration offers a playful, casual and easily approachable new dining concept — all the while keeping considered, refined Cantonese cuisine firmly at its heart.
