The award-winning country sports hotel, East Haugh House, to offer a palate extravaganza with their annual Game Food Weekend
Regularity is one of the staple ingredients of East Haugh House. Alongside collecting the title of Scotland’s Country Sports Hotel of the Year 2017 on seven occasions, is the annual Annual Game Food Weekend.
This years food weekend takes place from the 24th-26th November in Pitlochry, Perthshire and a plethora of game dishes will feature on the menu including wild mountain hare, grouse, pheasant, partridge and venison. Dishes are priced individually with starters from £6.95 and mains from £16.95.
East Haugh House is a 4-star family-run establishment and was bought in 1989 by husband and wife team, and sporting enthusiasts, Neil & Lesley McGown. They lovingly converted the 17th century turreted private home into a luxury hotel which has established itself as a real destination for tourists from the UK and overseas with country sports in mind. And, as many have experienced by experiencing the annual game food weekend is equally renowned for its food. To add a little more icing on the cake, East Haugh House is recommended in the Michelin Guide, and award-winning customer service.
Lesley McGown, co-owner, has been helping country sports enthusiasts get the most out of their time in the Scottish Highlands for more than 28 years. Her passion for rural pursuits, combined with a lifetime of hospitality expertise, has led to her becoming one of the region’s most respected advocates of fishing, shooting and stalking tourism. Lesley assisted VisitScotland in establishing the ‘Anglers Welcome’ scheme — a set of best practice guidelines for hospitality businesses wishing to improve their ability to cater for fishing tourism.
