H. Moser & Cie. is a company that embraces and maintains traditional skills and expertise. The company is known for its beautiful fumé dials, which is a tribute to the art of enamelling. For 2022, they’ve introduced a brand new take on tradition, and it is called the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green.
Even the most traditional focused companies need to reinvent their products from time to time, and the watch brand H. Moser & Cie. understands this. The company, headquartered in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, first started creating fine timepieces in 1828 and now, nigh-on 200 years later, they are still wowing watch fans and collectors with quality and style.
For 2022, they have decided to revisit their fumé dials and have introduced an intense new colourway, with a fresh vibrancy and an original hammered texture used to eye-catching effect. The new timepiece is called the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green and is housed in a 40mm steel case with an automatic movement. It is a classic and elegant 3-hand watch with a perfectly balanced aesthetic and striking charisma.
The essential foundation of watchmaking, the 3-hand watch, requires expertise at the highest level, as it is the details that truly elevates the piece. To be considered truly exceptional, the aesthetic must reach perfection, achieving a perfect balance: immaculate proportions, harmonious forms, high-end finishes. H. Moser & Cie. has achieved this with the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green model. With its brand-new colour and technology, the dial lends a new dynamic to the serene elegance.
The new Fumé Dial, in detail
H. Moser & Cie. started with a hammered pattern engrained onto a gold base. They then took three different colour pigments that were washed, finely crushed, then applied to create an ombré effect. It takes about an hour of meticulous work for the master enameller to painstakingly apply the pigments, adding them one by one so that the colours oxidise and meld together when heated in the furnace, without any pixelation.
In total, a translucent “Grand Feu” enamel dial needs to be fired 12 times to create the signature H. Moser & Cie. fumé effect; the end result is a unique dial on each Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green timepiece. To avoid spoiling the dial’s beautiful looks, the watchmaker has chosen not to add a logo or indices as it felt would distract from the beauty of the dial.
The Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green Movement
At the heart of the 40 mm Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green beats the HMC 200 automatic calibre. This movement has been entirely designed, developed and produced in-house.
It is equipped with a regulating organ manufactured by H. Moser & Cie. ‘s sister company, Precision Engineering AG, and has a double hairspring, instantly identifiable thanks to the purple second’s hand and to the blue balance bridge. Decorated with the famous Moser double stripes, the calibre HMC 200 features a large, engraved oscillating weight and guarantees a power reserve of at least three days.
A grey kudu leather strap lends the final touch of elegance to this bold cocktail: fresh, offbeat, with a truly modern sensibility.
