With the UK Government implementing tighter restrictions on the hospitality sector, treating yourselves a delicious meal in the UK might become a lot more complicated. The Ethical Butcher’s collaboration with Pestle on a new recipe box range looks like an ideal solution to the problem.
With so much changing in these current times, the secret to success for any business in the hospitality sector is timing and the ability to adapt. Fortunately, The Ethical Butcher constantly has its eyes on the ball and is continuously innovating their offerings. Their latest innovation comes in the form of a collaboration with Pestle, the curry paste company which created by Chef, Neha Hampton during the lockdown.
With a desire to build a deeper connection between people, communities and food, Pestle and The Ethical Butcher aims to take customers on a culinary journey of exploration, deep-diving into the history of some of Britain’s favourite Indian dishes. Launching with British favourites including Chicken Tikka, Lamb Korma and a Beef or Pork Vindaloo recipe kits, each kit includes ethically sourced, regenerative British meats from The Ethical Butcher, and a fresh paste created by Pestle.
Made using British grown garlic, onions and chilled combined with carefully curated spices and blended with Mellow Yellow carbon-neutral rapeseed oil each paste is freshly chopped, roasted, ground and blended by hand in Sussex in small batches to recreate dishes from the Indian Subcontinent. Through this collaboration, The Ethical Butcher and Pestle are excited to bring authentic flavours to the dinner table with recipes that are simple and easy to follow, resulting in an unforgettable dining experience.
The Ethical Butcher is proud to be supporting Pestle and is the first online retailer to sell its products.
Glen, the co-founder of The Ethical Butcher comments “With our focus on British agriculture and provenance, celebrating British culture is part of our mission. It is difficult to consider the culinary history of Britain without thinking about its ties to India. When we met Neha, she shared our passion for the history of Britain’s cuisine; we felt compelled to support Pestle.
The curry pastes that Neha has created are nothing short of extraordinary. Not only do they perfectly complement our ethical and sustainable meats, but as a business, we are delighted to be able to support such an inspiring entrepreneur and a business born out of the pandemic.”
The Ethical Butcher X Pestle boxes will be available to purchase from https://ethicalbutcher.co.uk/collections/collaborations at just £6.50 for the pastes alone and kits including paired meats from £11 to feed 3-4 people.
