Fairline, the renowned luxury motor yacht brand, has announced that its Targa 40 luxury sports yacht will have its official launch at Boot Düsseldorf in January 2024.
British firm Fairline has been producing luxury motor yachts since 1963, and they are well known for combining years of experience with the latest technology. Their craftsmen have the skills and knowledge to create vessels that will push the brand forward, and the Targa 40 is an excellent example of this.
The Fairline Targa 38 has proved to be one of the company’s most popular models, with more than 300 models being built since it launched in 2006. The success of the ’38 has led to the boatbuilder expanding its range with a 40-foot vessel with the same tried and tested sporty and sleek looks.
The Targa 40 has a bold exterior design direction with a modern bluff-bow hull. It features a stylish, contemporary interior delivering a sophisticated, modern, yet sporty style that will delight every owner.
The open cockpit design opens the main deck with a hardtop and electric canvas sunroof. Mirroring the lines and extensive glazing across the Fairline range, the Targa 40 floods the interior with natural light and uninterrupted water views.
Christian Gott, Fairline’s in-house lead concept designer, said, “The popularity of the Targa 38 cannot be disputed, and this brand new 40 takes everything we loved about the 38 and elevates it for the 21st century. These new images showcase just what a wow factor the Targa 40 has, and we can’t wait for Fairline fans to see it in person in January.”
The Targa 40 has been designed with usable space for the owner in mind, with a power-down beach club balcony to starboard. You get Twin sunbeds with floating backrests that change into sofas for voyagers to enjoy. You also get a wet bar behind the individual helm seats, perfect for entertaining, and a sizeable C-shaped seating/dining area with companion seating to port.
Fairline’s comprehensive focus on technology means they have created a beautifully proportioned and ergonomically designed helm console for the Targa 40. Owners get a Garmin touchscreen multi-function display with a simplified and intuitive interface, giving you integrated control of all essential systems.
On the foredeck, the expansive sunbeds dominate, and with the addition of a forward-facing sofa at the bow, passengers enjoy the views whilst cruising.
The Targa 40 has four berths in a two-cabin layout; the below deck replicates the sophisticated furnishings and flawless design on the main deck. The spacious master cabin has 1.98m (6’6″) headroom and direct access to an en-suite, with a jack-and-jill door arrangement.
The mid-ship guest cabin has twin beds that can slide to make a double bed. The integrated garage boasts room for tenders up to 8 ft.
James Powell Fairline’s Sales Director said, “The Targa 40 is a major milestone in our new model development programme and follows the Squadron 58, which will make its world debut at Southampton International Boat Show this September. We’re continually improving and adding to our model range, and this new Targa 40 will offer many boaters their first step into our renowned Targa range.”
Owners have the choice of a Volvo Penta D6-340s or D6-380s powerplant, which Fairline expects will deliver top-end speeds of 32 and 36 knots, respectively.
