The 2012 edition of the Podio Ferrari took place in Maranello. This now-traditional annual event celebrates the work of Ferrari’s suppliers and strategic partners, honouring those whose contribution to the Scuderia Ferrari and our road car division has proved particularly impressive in terms of technical excellence, technologies, innovation, competitiveness and development.
This very special event was attended not only by Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, Deputy Chairman Piero Ferrari and CEO Amedeo Felisa, but also by Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali and drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa who performed the opening ceremony.
Two awards were presented at the end of the day:
- Best GES supplier: Eligio Re Fraschini –In the course of its consolidated and exclusive carbon-fibre component partnership with the Scuderia Ferrari, Eligio Re Fraschini has continually improved response times, flexibility and time-to-market performance. This contributed significantly to bringing to the track solutions that guaranteed the competitiveness of our single-seaters in the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship.
- Best GT supplier: Webasto – For its vital contribution to the development of the world’s first Retractable Hard Top for a rear-engined GT spider and for successfully industrialising that product on the 458 Spider, thanks to its skills as a world leader in the convertible systems arena.
A special surprise awaited winners Massimo Re Fraschini and Franz-Josef Kortüm at the end of the ceremony when Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa gave them a taste of the power of Maranello’s latest model, the F12berlinetta, over several laps of the Fiorano Circuit
