With the announcement that Eurostar is launching their direct trains from Amsterdam to London later this year, Ffestiniog Travel has launched a brand new tailored tour to Amsterdam.
Said to be the perfect location for a European short break, the itinerary offers a four-day exploration of the Dutch capital, including a journey back in time on the Hoorn to Medemblick railway, a visit to the heritage signal box and workshop, an excursion to the Netherlands National Railway Museum, and time to enjoy the elaborate canal system and artistic heritage of Amsterdam.
Maria Cook, General Manager of Ffestiniog Travel, said, “We are really excited to be able to offer this tailored rail holiday. With our longstanding ethos of authentic sustainability, we are always looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint, and being able to use return rail instead of a flight for this Dutch getaway means the carbon emitted is reduced by 80%.
Not only will this itinerary appeal to those who want to experience the beautiful scenery and cultural heritage that Amsterdam has to offer, but it will also meet the growing demand for those who want to travel responsibly.”
The 4-day itinerary will be available to book from 11 February 2020, and the first departures using the return Eurostar service are available from 27 April 2020.
From £590pp, the price includes direct Eurostar tickets to/from Amsterdam, three nights accommodation, entry to the Railway Museum in Utrecht and a return journey on the Hoorn Medemblik Railway.
