Fodabox, previously known as Boroughbox, is riding the crest of a wave. Not only has the company revealed a name change, but the business is also growing via a healthy increase in sales, and they’ll soon be launching a range of new in-house products.
FodaBox, formally BoroughBox, was founded by Andy Lawson in 2014. Andy saw the first-hand challenges that independent producers faced and the difficulties they encountered in keeping afloat against mass-market suppliers. With this in mind, he set out to build an alternative model that puts people above profit and showcases the most delectable delights from independent producers.
Selling these on its marketplace and curating them into beautiful boxes for every occasion, each product receives the added seal of approval from the FodaBox team as it is ‘tried, tasted and loved’ before being sent to customers around the world.
Originally starting out selling and shipping the very best independent food and drinks across the UK, FodaBox now exports internationally, with products shipping as far as Japan. Despite this growth, it continues to champion and support emerging brands, nurturing long-lasting partnerships to help them achieve success alongside their own.
FodaBox is driven to be a place for people who appreciate great food and drink, introducing them to cutting edge, innovative, independent producers whilst keeping quality, ethics, and the environment front of mind.
With a keen focus on sustainability, FodaBox strives for fairer, more efficient, and less wasteful practices throughout the industry and ultimately believe in making it simple for customers to shop ethically and sustainably.
With a specialist team in place, FodaBox sources unique, top-quality products from cutting-edge brands, putting them under the spotlight for like-minded food fans to find them. FodaBox considers itself to be an authority on knowing the who’s who of independent producers, shining a light on unseen gems and uncovering tomorrow’s trends, so customers don’t have to—offering more than just food and drink but providing culinary experiences alongside.
Regarding the re-brand and name change, Founder Andy Lawson said, ‘This is an exciting time for FodaBox as the business grows and we launch our very own in-house range. We feel that it’s only right to mark the occasion by reflecting this change with a new name. Foda, the old English word for food, felt fitting for us to build our brand around.
What once was a small, local business is now anything but as we sell and ship the very best independent food and drink across the world! Our marketplace continues to thrive with more brilliant food and drink producers, and we can’t wait to share them with our customers.’
