Friendship Travel Launch Solo Whisky Holiday for Whisky Connoisseurs

Scotland and Ireland are home to beautiful landscapes, rich culture and historic and vibrant cities. However, they’re also home to some of the world’s finest Whisky, and connoisseurs of the rich-bodied spirit flock to the countries each year to tour historical distilleries, uncover stories behind production and sample the finest drams straight from the barrel.

Launching in 2025, Friendship Travel is offering its inaugural Whisky Tasting Tour across Scotland and Ireland. Taking care of flights and travel between the two countries, this six-night tour allows guests to sit back and take in the scenic landscapes and sights that surround them as they visit some of the country’s best distilleries.

Beginning the trip in the bustling city of Dublin, the group will be treated to a tour of Teeling Distillery, the city’s first new distillery in over 125 years. Since its opening the distillery has gone on to win over 20 prestigious awards, making it a must-visit destination.

Providing 4-star accommodation throughout the trip, after a night’s stay, the group will head to the iconic Jameson Distillery, which, due to its history, stands as a monument to Irish whiskey.

The following day, the group will travel by first-class train to Belfast for a tour of McConnell’s Whisky Distillery before heading north for a night’s stay on the shorefront of Ballycastle, a small village located in the heart of the Causeway Coast.

After a decadent dinner and restful night’s sleep, guests will be whisked away to Scotland, taking the fast ferry direct from Ballycastle harbour to Islay Island.

Known by many as the ‘Whisky Isle’, Islay produces some of Scotland’s finest Whisky’s with a distinct smoky flavour derived from the island’s peat bogs.

Over the course of two days, the group will visit Bowmore Distillery and Bruichladdich Distillery before returning to Ballycastle for a final tour of Ireland’s oldest distillery, Bushmills.

The tour will provide guests with plenty of time to explore other nearby attractions, including the vibrant bars and restaurants of Dublin and Belfast and the great outdoors and wildlife spanning the Island of Islay.

The trip departs on June 4th, 2025, and August 27th, 2025, and costs £3,185 per person. It includes a 6-night stay at a 4-star hotel with a room for sole use and breakfast daily, dinner for 4 nights, 6 Whisky tours, and all transfers and flights.
