Genesis Announces UK Prices for its Luxury GV80 and G80 Models

Genesis is all set to shake up the luxury car sector in the UK this summer. In addition to introducing a new benchmark level of customer service, they’ve just announced the pricing for their first two models. Given just how fantastic their cars look and what they offer, they’ll be no more resting on laurels for some European manufacturers.

The sector of the market Genesis is joining is a rather congested one. It is dominated by brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar and BMW. All of these brands are immensely popular, and you’re guaranteed to see at least one of their cars within minutes of driving on a British road.

In fact, they’ve become such a common sight, rather than drawing attention; the public is now rather blasé upon seeing one. Individuality is still craved by many, and Jaguar was the ‘alternative’ brand until now. The introduction of Genesis to the UK market could be the ideal excuse many have waited for to switch from the common-or-garden Teutonic models.

Although we are yet to get behind the wheel of a Genesis motor car, from what we’ve seen from the images supplied to us, they’ve nailed it when it comes to the interior and exterior styling. In fact, through the eyes of some members of the team, they do look somewhat Bentley’esque. We’re not saying that they will be in the same league as Bentley; that would be a stretch as Bentley Motors provides some of the finest cars ever envisaged.

Although the performance and look of a vehicle is always a significant consideration when making a purchase, perhaps most importantly, it’s pricing that is the key factor.

The Korean manufacturer’s first models to be made available for summer ordering in the UK are the G80, whose entry-level price is rather enticing £37,460 OTR, while the GV80, which is the SUV version starts from £56,715 OTR. The G80’s price pitches it directly against the entry-level facelifted 5 Series BMW priced at £37,500, with the GV80 looking an attractive alternative to the X5, which has an OTR price of £60,010.

The big advantage that the Genesis models have over similarly priced models such as the BMW’s is, through our eyes, they look significantly better in the styling stakes. In addition to this, the Genesis models look far more luxurious inside and offer the individuality that many people are after. Along with the beautiful styling, the cars are said to offer best-in-class safety coupled with state-of-the-art technology.

The GV80 SUV is available as a Diesel 3.0 8AT AWD or a Petrol 2.5T 8AT AWD as a 5 or 7 seater vehicle.
