Genesis has unveiled some significant plans for Summer 2021. The Korean manufacturer has just announced it will be bringing its luxury cars to the UK’s shores and Europe starting with the Genesis GV80 SUV and the G80 saloon with other models to follow in rapid succession, including three all-electric vehicles later in the year.
It’s a tad over five years since Genesis first appeared on the automotive radar, and since then, they’ve forged a reputation for refined, luxury motoring vehicles around the world. One region where they are a little less known is the UK and Europe, but their recent announcement shows that this is all about to change.
In their latest press conference held in Frankfurt, Germany, the Korean manufacturer unveiled brand-new plans to begin selling models from its range to customers in the UK, Switzerland and Germany. Before you ask, “yes, this will mean RHD versions for the UK!”
How Genesis separates itself from other manufacturers
The way they operate is very different from any other luxury motor vehicle manufacturer we can think of, and their groundbreaking ethos deserves to be lauded. Unlike other manufacturers, they have one transparent price for each of their models. Essentially, this means no hidden extras, and in addition to this, all their vehicles come with an extensive five-year care plan.
To make things as simple as possible for customers based in the UK and Europe, they are to open dedicated studios in Munich, Zurich and London. From summer 2021, an initial selection of models will be made available for purchase both online and via the new Genesis studios.
In keeping with the luxury experience, Genesis will be appointing specialists from the hospitality and retail sectors in the roles of dedicated ‘Personal Assistants’. These customer-care focused personnel will be managing the whole buying and ownership experience – from start to finish.
People often say that buying a new car can involve a lot of stress, and this in part can be put down to commission-focused, overly-pushy salespeople trying to get a customer to part with money for added extras. The new Genesis business model seeks to remove this and make the whole buying and ownership experience as serene as possible.
What will be available in summer 2021?
Genesis will begin taking orders for the GV80 SUV (above) and the G80 saloon (below) this summer. Soon after, the new G70 and GV70 will become available, and they will also be bringing a dedicated European model a little later in 2021.
Genesis will also be bringing its all-electric models to the UK and Europe. The first of these will be the electric G80, and this will be followed by two more electric models, one of which has been built and designed on a dedicated electric platform.
The ownership experience
As mentioned earlier, this Korean manufacturer does things differently, and this is clearly shown by the convenience and support they offer to customers. Gone are the days of taking your car to the dealership. Instead, Genesis customer will have their vehicles collected and returned at every step.
What’s included with the Genesis Five-Year Care Plan:
- Warranty
- Servicing
- Roadside assistance
- Courtesy car
- Mapping and over-the-air software updates
