Genève Genève, a New Annual Lakeside Festival Promoting Local Talent

This August, Geneva Tourism is set to host the inaugural edition of Genève Genève, an annual lakeside festival aimed at promoting local talent and creativity with the iconic Lake Geneva as its backdrop.

Taking place from Wednesday, 14 to Sunday, 18 August, Genève Genève will see the lakeside transformed into five distinct areas of wellness, music, food, arts, and culture, in addition to a children’s area to ensure that the whole family is entertained.

Featuring everything from musical performances to drone shows and pyrotechnics, the festival will showcase 380 different artists across five days, celebrating Geneva’s diversity and creativity in the ultimate summer city celebration.

Access to Genève Genève is complimentary, and whether it’s unwinding with yoga or dancing the night away at a live DJ set in the beautiful Jardin Anglais as the sun goes down, this exciting new festival has something for everyone to enjoy.

Centring around the city’s world-renowned lake, Genève Genève puts the spotlight on the very best talent that Geneva has to offer, allowing visitors to uncover the more unexpected side of the city.

As well as showcasing Geneva’s artistic talent, the festival will bring together some of the city’s best restaurateurs and producers to allow visitors to discover local produce at affordable prices.

Fifty food establishments from across the canton will attend the festival. They will work almost exclusively with regional produce and highlight the culinary diversity of Geneva, the third most culturally diverse city in the world.

The food stalls will be joined by winegrowers and drink brands from across the region, with winemakers working with Geneva-based Bibarium to offer wine by the glass directly from a barrel, avoiding unnecessary waste from glass bottles.

Guests looking to delve deeper into Geneva’s offerings can also take advantage of the Geneva City Pass, which can be purchased for 24, 48, or 72 hours and grants access to over 60 of the city’s activities on a free-of-charge or discounted basis.

The pass also allows free access to the city’s public transport network, ensuring easy transfers to and from the festival this August.
