Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is delighted to have partnered with John Lobb, the renowned manufacturer of men’s shoes and accessories, to offer guests and visitors a very special John Lobb Shoe shine service, in a dedicated John Lobb Shoe-Shine chair.
The bespoke John Lobb shoe shine chair, which will be situated in the hotel’s East Lobby from the end of January 2012, is one of only four in the world, and is the only one in Hong Kong.
Guests can enjoy a John Lobb Shoe shine, by a dedicated Shoe-Shine Butler, whilst ‘polishing’ up on the day’s news with the latest national and international newspapers and magazines and a cup of coffee or chilled drink. Priced at HKD150, the 15 minute service will be offered between 8 a.m. – 9 a.m., 12 noon – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, and is available to both hotel guests and visitors.
Designed by the late Paris-based interior architect Rena Dumas and the design team at Rena Dumas Architecture Interieure, the shoe shine chair is made of wood and Hermes buffalo leather and features a specially designed wooden stool along with a shoe-shine box. In order to ensure maximum comfort, guests can rest their feet on precisely placed nickel-plated brass footrests.
