In a world of rising costs, purchasing products that will continue to do their job without fuss for years to come should be atop everyone’s agenda. When it comes to non-stick cookware, one of the best in the business is GreenPan, and for this feature, we’ll be taking a look at their brand-new Barcelona Pro Collection that has all the requisite ingredients to make them last.
For 15 years, GreenPan has been the pioneer of world-leading Thermolon™ PFAS-free ceramic non-stick cookware. One of the major selling points with GreenPan, and something we particularly like, is, unlike other non-stick pan companies, the coating used by GreenPan, not only offers high performance, it does so without the use of harmful, let’s call them ‘forever chemicals’.
All the pieces in the new GreenPan Barcelona Pro collection benefit from the latest PFAS-free Thermolon™ Infinite8 ceramic non-stick coating, and in line with our preference for writing about things which last, the pieces are also coated with ScratchGuard™ technology, which, as the name suggests means they are scratch-resistant and thus, very durable.
A classical and timeless design
As many of our regular readers will have seen in articles by us over the last twelve months, “black is back”. The good news is that GreenPan is making excellent use of the colour in their timeless design, which will be perfect for every interior décor style from a country kitchen to stark minimalism to cosy Hygge and industrial chic.
The sophisticated pitch-black colour contrasts beautifully with the comfortable mirror finish premiere handles, made using cast stainless steel. They also boast upgraded sunken silhouette rivets that deliver a seamless interior, ensuring that there’s no trapped food and it’s easy to clean.
The performance
Perfect for intensive daily use, the new BalancePro™ ultra-durable, 5mm gauge forged aluminium heavy base heats up quickly (no need for pre-heating) and stays perfectly flat, guaranteeing optimal heat distribution and ensuring excellent results on all stovetops, including induction.
Easy to use and easier on the oil and butter
Thanks to the heavy base and PFAS-free Thermolon™ Infinite8 ceramic non-stick coating, you can use less oil or butter, and what you do use is spread evenly, resulting in the perfect prep of fabulous, tasty, healthy meals. The new range is also metal utensil safe, and the Pro-Tec reinforced rim provides extra protection so you can tap your spoon
on the rim without damaging it.
Another big positive with the Barcelona Pro Range is that it is dishwasher safe, and if you’d rather go for the fastest route when cleaning off the residue, all that’s needed is a quick wipe under the tap.

About GreenPan
GreenPan was developed in Belgium in 2007 by two childhood friends – Jan Helskens and Wim De Veirman Having discovered that when overheated, traditional non-stick pans release toxic substances into the air and into your food, they embarked on a personal mission to create a healthy non-stick alternative. After several years of development, they launched ThermolonTM, an innovative, ceramic non-stick coating with zero harmful, persistent toxins such as PFAS and delivering outstanding cooking results.
There are twenty-two pieces in the GreenPan Barcelona Pro Collection, and more information can be found on their website www.greenpan.co.uk.
