October saw the highly-anticipated opening of the first luxury property designed around the beautiful curves of an electric guitar.

Situated in a prime location in Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was expanded as part of a $1.5 billion investment and three-year build to include the world’s first-ever guitar-shaped hotel. It is the result of an idea that Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, had back in 2007.

Designed by architect Klai Juba Wald from Las Vegas, it houses 638 new luxury guest rooms, with a further 168 rooms also available in the seven-story Oasis Tower. The building has been engineered to resemble back-to-back guitars, complete with guitar faces and brightly lit strings. The architectural masterpiece reaches 450 feet into the sky, fitted with floor-to-ceiling glass panes.

The latest construction project has also seen the addition of new high-end amenities, such as a lush, “Bora Bora” style lagoon with private overwater cabanas, a 42,000 square-foot Rock Spa®, in addition to a 13.5-acre water experience for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and 19 different dining outlets.

Culinary highlights include “Kuro”, a specialist Japanese restaurant, “The Beach Club Bar & Grill”, which offers fruity and frozen beverages, as well as “Constant Grind”, for coffee and croissants.

Known as an icon for hospitality and entertainment, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel will welcome 100 shows a year, and will also be introducing its flagship casino which has doubled in size. It boasts high-stakes table games, South Florida’s premier poker room and an extensive roster of slot titles.

Furthermore, staying true to the Hard Rock brand, Seminole Hard Rock is home to some of music’s most iconic memorabilia. On display are pieces from stars of today and yesteryears, such as Michael Jackson, Katy Perry and Beyoncé. A self-guided Rock Walk tour allows guests to witness the iconic pieces for themselves.

With such a unique design, there is no doubt that this hotel will play on the heartstrings of travellers, and become a major tourist and Instagram hot spot in Florida.
