A busy 2023 for Heesen Yachts came to a close with the keel-laying ceremony for “Project Setteesettanta”. Simon Wittenberg takes a closer look.
A keel-laying ceremony is a special moment in the construction of a new yacht, where coins are welded to a section of the vessel as a symbol of good fortune. Luxurious Magazine had the privilege of attending the occasion at the Dutch shipyard in Oss for Project Cosmos (now named Galactica), and it is a milestone to be celebrated.
Fast forward nearly five years, and it is now the turn for the build of YN 20857, also known as “Project Setteesettanta”, which translates as “seven and seventy”. This a full custom all-aluminium 57-metre yacht, which will be delivered to its new owners in 2026, experienced yacht connoisseurs who are already existing customers of Heesen.
The beautiful profile of Project Setteesettanta has been styled by Omega Architects and is the first yacht in the Heesen fleet to have the bridge on the fourth deck whilst still managing to maintain a sleek form. New flat Star Link comm panels have also replaced the traditional domes, contributing to what is a clean and neat design.
The exceptional interior is the work of Cristiano Gatto Design, where the entire upper deck has been restricted to the exclusive use of the owners so as to ensure total privacy. Furthermore, a large master stateroom offers 180-degree views and a private forward terrace of nearly 200 square metres that can serve as a touch-and-go helipad.
The enclosed mooring deck enhances the necessary discretion for the owners and streamlines operations for the 13 crew on board.
There is a VIP cabin forward on the starboard side of the main deck, adjacent to a fully equipped gym. Four large guest staterooms, two twins and two doubles, are situated on the lower deck, while an elegant oval staircase ascends through all four decks, running back-to-back with the crew staircase to optimise the space available.
The dining area on the main deck is located towards the stern, adjacent to the aft (the rear) terrace. Thanks to wide sliding doors, this area blends seamlessly with the outdoors.
Heesen Yachts’ Project Oslo24 is Christened
In other news for Heesen Yachts, the final month of 2023 also saw the naming of the 50-metre Project Oslo24, which began construction in October 2021.
Sporting a hybrid propulsion system and brought to life by Clifford Denn Design and Luca Dini Design & Architecture, the yacht has been christened “Cinderella Noel IV”. It is scheduled for delivery in March 2024.
