The House of Suntory's Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition

Today, The House of Suntory has launched the limited edition Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition. In a celebration of the renowned store reaching an extraordinary milestone, 175 individually numbered bottles will be released, available exclusively at Harrods from August 15th.

For 175 incredible years, Harrods has been a sanctuary for treasures from across the globe, with The House of Suntory portfolio among its cherished possessions. Hibiki whisky is a beacon within this collection, a meticulous blend of grain whiskies from Suntory’s renowned Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries. Hibiki Japanese Harmony, crafted with care, evokes the essence of “wa” – the harmony found in nature.

Nobuyuki Akiyama, Managing Director of The House of Suntory, said, “Both our founders were pioneers who recognised the intrinsic value of treasures—how they ignite inspiration, evoke delight, and provoke awe. Shinjiro Torii introduced whisky to Japan, igniting a cultural awakening, and shared his creation with the world. Meanwhile, Charles Henry Harrod brought the world to his London emporium, crafting a space where the extraordinary and the unexpected could be experienced, savoured, and cherished.”

The limited edition Hibiki Japanese Harmony bottle showcases bespoke artwork that elegantly combines Harrods’ esteemed heritage with Suntory’s luxurious credentials. Regarded as the epitome of the Art of Japanese Whisky, Hibiki is Japan’s most highly decorated blended whisky, revered worldwide for its prestige and distinction.

This special bottle collaboration features bespoke artwork inspired by Harrods’ prestigious legacy. The box is adorned with a peacock motif, an emblematic creature that has embellished the walls of Harrods’ food halls since the 1900s, alongside a tealeaf—a homage to Harrods’ origins as a humble tea merchant on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, in 1849.

The box includes Harrods’ motto—“Omnia Omnibus Ubique,” Latin for “All Things for All People Everywhere”—the packaging proudly reflects the iconic terracotta façade recognised globally.

André Lewis, Head of Buying for Food, Wine & Spirits, commented, “As we celebrate 175 years of Harrods, we are delighted to partner with The House of Suntory to introduce the Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition.

“This exclusive release beautifully marries the refined artistry of Suntory whisky with the rich heritage of Harrods. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a symbol of meticulous craftsmanship and exquisite taste, making it a perfect tribute to our legacy. We are excited to offer this unique bottle to our customers, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence and the celebration of timeless elegance.”

Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky epitomises the unparalleled art of blending and exquisite craftsmanship from the House of Suntory. Enticing on the nose with notes of lychee, rosemary, and sandalwood, it tantalises the palate with a honey-like sweetness, including candied orange peel and white chocolate. It culminates in a subtle, lingering finish with hints of Mizunara, the revered Japanese oak.

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition is available exclusively at Harrods for a suggested retail price of £255 (43% Alc. Vol. 70CL).
