Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa in Cognac is welcoming the warmer days by adding two new cycling packages in partnership with its sister property in Ile de Re. In addition, the hotel recently received two Michelin Keys, has partnered with Hotel Fauchon in Paris, and has retained its Michelin star for Les Foudres under new Chef Mathis Debize.
The Michelin Keys aim to reward excellence in various aspects of the hotel industry. During a prestigious ceremony held at the Les Ombres restaurant in Paris earlier this month, and with only 18 hotels invited to this private and exclusive event, this distinction underlines the commitment of Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa to the quality and exceptional experience offered to its guests.
Five criteria that made this possible include the anchoring of the hotel, its design and decoration, as well as the quality and consistency of service.

Twin Centre Package Hôtel de Toiras x Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa
2 Nights Package
With this two-day package, guests explore the twin faces of Charente and Charente Maritime, making the most of island life and vineyard countryside.
The package, which is for two people, includes a first night with breakfast at the Hôtel de Toiras before setting off on a cycling tour of the surrounding area. Guests can then head for a second night with breakfast at the Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa, which will be followed by a visit to a cognac house typical for the region. Transfer time is 1 hour and 30 min.
Included in the package are:
- One night at the Hôtel de Toiras with breakfast at George’s
- A bike escape for two people
- One night at the Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa with breakfast at La Distillerie
- A visit to a cognac house for two people
4 Nights Package
Designed for a longer stay in the Charente region, this package for two people includes two nights’ accommodation with breakfast at the Hôtel de Toiras and a cycling break on the Île de Ré.
Afterwards, the conveniently located Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa will welcome visitors for breakfast for two nights before offering a visit to an authentic cognac house.
The transfer between the two hotels takes one and a half hours by car. Guests will be given a map for the bike tour, which can be for one or two hours.
The package includes:

The new package from Fauchon L’Hotel Paris

This Gourmet Package experience is set up for individual stays at each hotel for the number of nights a guest wishes to visit; however, guests must book a minimum of one night at each hotel during the same trip for these rates and inclusions to apply (except special sales conditions where a minimum-night stay requirement is imposed or black-out dates apply).
Reservations can only be made via telephone or email with the reservation department of either hotel (one hotel can make a booking for the other). Guests are required to book their own transport via train from Paris to Cognac or vice versa. Each hotel can assist with hotel transfers to and from the train station; please note this is not included in the price.
The transfer in Paris is 125€ incl. VAT one way in a Mercedes E Class from the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris to Gare Montparnasse. In Cognac, the transfer is 155€ incl. VAT one way in a Jaguar E-pace from Angoulême station to the Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa.
The per night rate for the Gourmet Package at Fauchon L’Hotel Paris starts from €870 per night.
Nightly rates at Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa start from €220 per room during the low season. High season rates start at €290 for entry-level double bedrooms. Flights from London to Bordeaux or La Rochelle.
