Once a steam-powered factory, now a boutique bolthole, Hotel Luxe is a stone’s throw from Split’s historic old town and buzzing Riva port. Here’s why you should stay.
The low-down
A contemporary, design-inspired hotel dressed in chic white and purple velvets. It’s just a stroll away from the ferry port, Bacvice beach and Split’s quaint old town, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What makes it special?
The décor. It’s different. But good, different.
Housed in a former steam-powered factory, Hotel Luxe is probably the jazziest hotel you’ll find in Split. It certainly stands out among the traditional buildings that make up the area.
Whether you’re visiting Split for leisure or business, the hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient. You’re steps away from the ferry port and both the bus and train stations.
What’s more, Split’s main attractions are right on your doorstep, so it makes an ideal base for exploring Croatia’s second-largest city.
Rooms and amenities
The 30 rooms have bags of character, thanks to the funky furniture, colourful mood lighting, mirrored surfaces and striking wall art. The guestrooms are spacious, and most have sea views, which is a rarity in Split.
Rooms range from classic to superior, with three types of suite: the Prestige Suite, Deluxe Suite and Residence Suite, which is housed in its own building.
You’ll find all the amenities you’d expect of a luxury hotel, like Wi-Fi, high-spec TVs, minibars, fluffy robes and so on.
If you’ve hired a car, you’ll have access to the hotel’s secure parking. There’s also a full-service spa and a small gym, which is free for all hotel guests.
Dining
There’s no restaurant at Hotel Luxe. However, the lobby bar serves drinks 24/7, and you’ve got plenty of options along nearby Riva port. The hotel can, however, do lunch and dinner for groups if ordered in advance.
All rooms include access to the breakfast buffet, which is a generous mix of local dishes and more traditional breakfast items like eggs, cereal and croissants.
Things to do
Hotel Luxe is right next to Split’s historic old town. There are loads to explore, including the ancient Diocletian palace (originally home to a Roman Emperor), the sandy beach of Bacvice and the upbeat bars and restaurants along the Riva port.
The hotel also has a boat charter service, private adventure tours like zip-lining and airport transfers of all shapes and sizes.
If you feel like exploring, the beautiful islands of Hvar and Brac can be reached easily by ferry.
