Hurtigruten has launched a virtual reality (VR) experience, for agents and adventure seekers to trial a selection of excursions available on the brands Explorer and Coastal voyages.
The VR experience showcases nine amazing and unique off-board activities in destinations including; the Arctic, Antarctica and coastal Norway. The content captured via drones and 360 cameras bring the destinations to life, delivering truly immersive and real to life adventures for users.
Guests and agents will find themselves transported to the remote wilderness of Antarctica to kayak amongst icebergs, feel the Arctic wind whilst galloping on horseback across the Norwegian plains or embark on a mountain hike and be mesmerised by the majestic scenery of the Lofoten Islands.
Hurtigruten Regional Sales Managers will take the VR experience along with them to meetings with key travel agents across the UK and educate on the excursion offering. In addition, a selection of VR headsets will be available on board ships from late summer with expedition teams encouraging guests to learn more about Hurtigruten’s adventures.
Anthony Daniels, Head of UK Sales at Hurtigruten said; “From polar travel to coastal Norway, Hurtigruten offers a wide range of excursions and our ambition with this VR experience is to give guests and agents a small taste of the explorer offering. The nine experiences currently available on the headset highlight the diversity of adventures available and we hope it encourages our guests to try something new and discover their inner explorer.”
