The Phuket Hotels Association and the branding agency QUO have come together to launch an inspirational campaign called ‘Imagine Phuket’ to help boost the island’s hospitality sector.
Phuket is Thailand’s most renowned tourist destination. With travel restrictions easing in some parts of the world, now is the perfect time to remind international travellers what this beautiful island has to offer.
Phuket is pretty much a mix of everything a traveller would want to experience. Beautiful beaches, traditional culture, history and of course, fantastic food. It’s a favourite destination for people of all ages from retirees to students looking to experience the world during a gap-year.
Sadly, Phuket and many other tourism-focused destinations have suffered a great deal of hardship this year, which will come as no surprise. Fortunately, they have the Phuket Hotels Association ready to help, and their newly launched Imagine Phuket campaign is the first step in addressing this.
The motivation for the association was saving jobs and boosting the tourism sector. To do this, they created a campaign which is led by a video showcasing the islands extraordinary beauty and attractions.
The Imagine Phuket campaign is an opportunity for the island’s hotels to come together with one voice and message. Each of the 75 participating hotels will be given personalised videos, images and logos with their own branding. By doing this, it allows hotels to create their own versions of the campaign.
Of all the beautiful destinations in Thailand, Phuket has been one of the hardest-hit with unemployment increasing by over 34% YoY.
Phuket Chamber of Commerce President Thanusak Phungdet revealed to the press at a recent conference that COVID-19 had resulted in more than THB 120 billion in lost income and this number is expected to double by the year-end if things do not improve.
Thailand is aiming to reopen international travel this summer, and no doubt, people from all over the world will be eager to head back to Asia’s most-visited island destination.
Last year alone, 10 million people visited the island to experience its incredible landscape, the warmth of its people and the unique culture.
With the island’s airport already open, Phuket will be hoping the Imagine Phuket Campaign will get the message out that Phuket will be back in business soon.
