An unexpected global event transpired earlier this year causing the stalling of what was to be the inaugural edition of Auto Royale. The good news is we have confirmation Auto Royale will now be taking place in July 2021 in the beautiful grounds at Waddesdon Manor.
Auto Royale is an event we and thousands of others were eagerly awaiting. It was all set to become the new standard-bearer for showcasing classic cars in the United Kingdom. But, as we’ve alluded to earlier, a certain virus decided to put the spanner in the works, and we were left wondering if this amazing event would ever take place.
In the past week, our editorial team received confirmation that the inaugural edition of Auto Royale will be taking place and the date and location had been set.
The first Auto Royale will now take place between the 16th – 18th July 2021 at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire and the person chosen to host the event is Alain de Cadenet, presenter for the speed channel and ESPN and a former racing driver.
Visitors to this motoring extravaganza will be treated to a mix of prestigious Concours competition, specialist traders, corporate hospitality and the very best of local food and wine. There will also be some extra-special features including fine examples of F1 legend Fangio’s cars and a celebration of Jaguar on the 120th birthday of founder Sir William Lyons.
With an event such as this, it’s a given that some of the world’s most beautiful cars will be on show, but these will need to share some of the limelight with the incredible beauty of Waddesdon Manor.
For those unfamiliar with Waddesdon Manor, it is one of Britain’s greatest country manor houses and was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 1870s for displaying his vast art and antique collection.
Waddesdon Manor is no stranger to the world of fine motor vehicles. Back in 2004, it was chosen as the host for the legendary Louis Vuitton 150th Anniversary Classic.
The organisers behind Auto Royale are promising the British International Concours d’Elegance competition will be of the highest standard. It will celebrate the British love of cars, automotive history and design, and creating a fun and engaging day. Auto Royale aims to reimagine the classic Concours paradigm and refresh the vibrant classic car community.
Auto Royale will be a shoo-in to join the quintessential English summer calendar and will set new Concours standards in the United Kingdom. We have no doubt that it will, in a short space of time, become the UK’s premier event for classic motor vehicles.
