How does a boat company grow in less than five years, developing and building a completely New range of Motor Catamarans? It’s by building stunning boats like the new 48 Power Cataraman
Designed and built to CE Category A (as all their boats are). With outstanding sea keeping and stability both at anchor and underway. As we know, Catamarans also give far better economy for the equivalent volume mono-hull vessels.
The JC48 has 3 power options, 2 x Yanmar (260hp) or 2 x Yanmar 8LV (370hp) engines connected via V-Drive Gearboxes that are shaft driven.
There is also an option to have ZF PODS with a Joystick with the Yanmar 8LV 370hp Engines. The JC48 can accommodate as many as Eight people in comfort, plus 2 crew.
The boat has been designed to have an exceptional amount of natural light throughout. Walnut Alpi wood is featured throughout the JC48 interior, doors, and bulkheads with a natural finish along with a mixture of modern bulkhead fabrics.
In the standard 3 cabin and optional 4 cabin version, there are en-suite facilities to all cabins with a separate shower cubical.
Starting by accessing the cockpit, it has wide step access with stainless steel grab rails from both port and starboard bathing platforms with stainless steel stern gates to shut for security when underway. There is an option for a hydraulic bathing platform / Tender lift between the hull platforms or an option for a basic davit option for those that just want a small tender. A bathing ladder and transom shower are standard as is the teak laid platform’s, aft cockpit deck and flybridge steps.
The cockpit has a large seating area with storage below and cup holders each end with a Teak table mounted on 2 sturdy polished stainless steel legs. There are large access hatches to both the port and starboard engine rooms with stainless steel gas rams to assist opening. The engine rooms are very well laid out with exceptional access for servicing the engines and ancillary equipment. The standard Generator is also very accessible and is also located in the port engine room. There are teak laid stairs leading from the port side of the cockpit with LED lighting to the GRP opening hatch which accesses the huge flybridge area that puts a 60ft plus mono-hull to shame.
With LED low level lighting. There is a large Sun-pad with storage under forward to port which converts to a double seat next to the helm seats. The flybridge helm is laid out with dual engine controls, gauges and space for navigation equipment. There is a large storage locker to the left of the helm with a stereo CD Player housed. A wet bar to starboard behind the helm that houses a sink with hot & cold water as standard and an optional fridge, electric BBQ and a storage cupboard. To the rear of the flybridge, there is a very large seating area that has a folding/extending teak table that seats 12 persons. A GRP radar arch with stereo speakers mounted as standard and space for antenna’s for all the usual electronic equipment.
Going forward from the cockpit, the wide side decks make it easy for all to safely get around the boat. Leading to a superb working foredeck with private seating area and additionally there are 2 teak bow rail seats and 2 very large forward hull lockers (optional crew quarters) along with 2 fender/chain lockers and additionally a central anchor winch locker. Blue LED lights are fitted as standard in the cockpit, side decks, foredeck, flybridge and at all steps, not only do they look great at night but also they are practical, to assist people when maneuvering on deck after dark.
There are Stainless steel sliding doors from the cockpit to the main deck Saloon, opening up completely, making the cockpit blend into one with the saloon area. The saloon boasts an Immense amount of natural light and space, giving it the feel of a much larger vessel.
As you enter the Saloon, there is a very large sofa/seating area to starboard with folding/extending dining table and an additional dual sofa to port with a rise and fall 40”Television as a standard feature.
There is an internal helm station forward to starboard with dual seats and storage below which also houses a standard drinks fridge and electric panel. A superbly designed and equipped galley to port as you enter from the cockpit, With ample storage, an extractor hood with light over the 4 burner electric hob and combination oven below, a Blanco one and a half bowel galley sink with Grohe faucets and cutting board/sink covers to give even more work space, a Fridge with ice box and Space for an optional Fisher Paykel draw dishwasher.
Below the galley floor there is also a huge storage area that can be fitted out to the owners preference, It was designed to houses the option for a washing machine and Freezer. The elegant forward full beam master stateroom is only one step down from the saloon at the forward bulkhead. It is an amazing cabin for the size of boat with a private head and separate shower to starboard and a dressing area with walk in wardrobe to port. (In the 4 cabin version, the stateroom cabin is divided in to 2 very spacious cabins which are both en-suite) which gives you an idea of how spacious the owners state cabin is.
The twin cabin with en-suite is accessed from the port side of the saloon. On entering the cabin you have a wardrobe to your left and heads with separate shower to your right with two single berths immediately ahead with a side table between the bed heads. The Double guest suite from the port side, with a sliding access door, a queen size double bed shaped for access both sides. A full length double wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with separate shower and a small dressing area with storage.
