Independent boutique property IZZA, which will open its doors on 1st September after eight years in the making, has announced further details of its global art collection. The property will house over 300 framed art pieces valued at over £5 million, consisting of contemporary Moroccan works alongside one of the largest physical collections of NFTs worldwide.

IZZA’z multi-million dollar gallery collection includes an installation of 24 framed prints from Sebastian Salgado’s ‘Amazonia’ NFT release at Sotheby’s; 10 artworks from A.I. artist Refik Anadol, as seen at MoMA and this year’s Grammy Awards; 11 screens with moving images from Ethiopian rising star, Yatreda, as well as artworks from historic collections of generative art, including ‘Fidenza’ by Tyler Hobbs, ‘Ringers’ by Dmitri Cherniak, ‘Meridians’ by Matt DesLauriers, ‘Anitcyclones’ by William Mapan, ‘Autoglyphs’ by LarvaLabs and ‘Fragments of an infinite field’ by Monica Rizzolli.

Each piece has been carefully curated and installed in this ‘museum in the Medina’, each with its own museum label and a dedicated gallery website page.

Marrakech’s blend of the traditional and contemporary is recognised in the art of IZZA, where traditional craftsmanship sits alongside digital and generative art.

Never far from the presence and inspiration of opulent interior designer Bill Willis, IZZA also houses photographs and artefacts that were found in his former nearby home, Dar Noujoum, which the proprietors of IZZA also privately own.

A treasure trove of Willis’ work, thousands of old photographs, drawings, zellige tiles and designs were found in Dar Noujoum on its purchase, which has led to the same meticulous detail to art and design within IZZA.
