Beginning the new year with a Big Bang of the Hublot variety, the luxury Swiss watch brand recently announced that rapper and one of Asia’s leading hip-hop stars, Joe Flizzow, is its first friend of the band in Malaysia.
Both Hublot and Flizzow share a common thread – they are both unique, possess star quality, and are leaders in their respective fields.
Hublot is a dream initiated and conceptualised by its chairman, Jean-Claude Biver, and CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe, who both have turned the brand into a much coveted and desirable luxury timepiece among the glitterati.
Models like the Bing Bang, Classic Fusion, Spirit of Big Bang and Manufacture Pieces are becoming hallmarks of modern and contemporary watch-making.
Similarly, Flizzow is a Malaysian rapper, producer and songwriter who has redefined this musical genre’s popularity among a new generation and is recognised as an important figure in the hip-hop musical scene.
Having released his chart-topping album ‘Havoc’ in 2013, Flizzow has then gone on to smash barriers with his single ‘Apa Khabar’ as the first hip-hop song to win prestigious awards in Malaysia.
Flizzow joins the brand’s portfolio of great international friends such as Turkish actor Kerem Bursin, Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama, American football player Eli Manning and Romanian World No. 1 tennis player Simona Halep.
At a special event held in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate this new partnership, Flizzow said: “Hublot is a brand that I carry in my heart. I am proud to represent our unique shared values to the world….it is truly an honour to be invited to join the Hublot family with such an impressive roster of acting and sporting greats, and I am looking forward to this new role.”
Hublot is represented exclusively by The Hour Glass in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
