Travellers can now embark on an inspirational journey to the highlands of Scotland, directly from the departures lounge of two of Asia’s busiest airports
World travellers, whisky aficionados and novices alike are invited to explore the innovative Johnnie Walker House – a luxury Scotch Whisky embassy launched by Diageo Global Travel together with Beijing Capital International Airport, China and Incheon International Airport, South Korea.
They will experience the true taste and rich heritage of Scotland, as they relax and sample first hand a dram of the world’s finest Scotch whiskies with the opportunity to purchase limited editions, all whilst waiting to catch a flight.
Upon entering the Johnnie Walker House, travellers will be transported on a sensory excursion, where they can explore the craftsmanship and exceptional quality of Johnnie Walker and its blends. There are an array of stunning features for travellers to enjoy including a ‘whisky scent bar’ where travellers can fully appreciate the many layers of the liquid’s subtle flavours and aromas. But the experience does not conclude there. Passengers will be invited to a luxury engagement zone to touch, taste and smell the rare elements that make up the famous liquids, guided by specialist brand ambassadors.
Travellers in Johnnie Walker House in Beijing Airport can also immerse themselves in a ‘whisky constellation wall’ dedicated to the Johnnie Walker heritage of the Art of Blending, providing a comprehensive index for Single Malt Scotch whiskies.
In Beijing, travellers will also have exclusive access to Shui Jing Fang liquids, as a section of the beautiful retail space is dedicated to China’s favourite white spirit, Baijiu.
Passengers travelling through Beijing and Incheon will also be treated to be a range of exquisite and rare Malts releases including The Singleton of Glendullan.
Dayalan Nayager, Managing Director, Diageo Global Travel, said “We’re delighted with the extension of the Johnnie Walker House footprint in Asia, which has been inspired by the phenomenal success of the Johnnie Walker House openings in Airports including Mumbai, Taiwan, Singapore, Auckland and Amsterdam in recent years.
We’re confident the fantastic additions in Beijing and Incheon Airports will not only provide consumers with access to some of the World’s finest Scotch Whiskies and unique Malts releases but also offer them a unique shopping experience that brings to life the history, provenance and pioneering spirit of the Johnnie Walker brand – an experience they’ll never forget.”
Bespoke Boutique in Beijing
The Johnnie Walker House in Beijing Capital International Airport is located in the prestigious T3 Departure Terminal of the airport.
The bespoke boutique is the first ever co-branded luxury space between Johnnie Walker and Shui Jing Fang, China’s first distillery of its favourite white spirit, Baijiu and it is also the largest boutique opening in global travel in Asia, following the success of Johnnie Walker House Amsterdam Airport Schiphol – the flagship Johnnie Walker House for Western Europe.
Inspiring Innovations in Incheon
The Johnnie Walker House will open in two terminals in Incheon International Airport located in East Main and Concourse Main.
The travel retail boutiques follow the opening of Johnnie Walker House Seoul, which opened its doors in 2013 and resides in the luxury retail district of Cheongdam, an area known for leading-edge fashion and lifestyle trends.
There is a range of inspiring innovations on offer to mark the opening of the Johnnie Walker Houses in Incheon International Airport, including Johnnie Walker House Zodiac Collection and Johnnie Walker House Exclusive Collection, available to purchase in both East Main and Concourse Main boutiques.
Similar to Beijing, there will also be a range of exquisite and rare Malts releases available to purchase including The Singleton of Glendullan range, strengthening Diageo Global Travel credentials in whisky.
