When you think of Switzerland and its iconic cities such a Lausanne, visions of natural beauty come to mind. However, Switzerland is also a gastronomic paradise with a huge range of sweet and savoury delights. For 2021, there’s some good news, Lausanne à Table has brought back the country’s largest foodie event series and it will have you rubbing your bellies.

From now until December, the vibrant city of Lausanne, located on the glistening shores of Lake Geneva, will be hosting Switzerland’s largest foodie event series, and it’s all thanks to Lausanne à Table!

It will be heaven on earth for food lovers who’ll be able to experience a huge gastronomic program that will be showcasing ‘all-things foodie’, and at the forefront of this will be unique experiences and exceptional quality.

The past twelve months have been somewhat of a write-off for live events, so it’s great news that the Lausanne à Table team have been able to bring back this much-loved food event to the Olympic capital in 2021.

Elise Rabaey, Director of Lausanne à Table, said, “The events organised by Lausanne à Table are unique, rich in tastes and discoveries, and aim to (re)connect artisans and consumers, city and nature, terroir and originality.”

The event is an inspiring celebration of local talent and honours carefully selected local produce, local dining establishments and creative flair within the Lausanne area.

From offering locals the opportunity to walk ‘in the shoes of a tasteful artisan’ – meeting the region’s best artisans and attempting to create your own creations: gin, fresh pasta, oil, ice cream and sourdough bread, to the championship event of Raclette – 10 of the best AOC raclettes will compete for the title of the city’s best.

Other events include the ‘Chocotreck‘ – a 4.5km tour of the city’s master chocolate makers’ specialities, the Autumn’s Fondue – fondues, white wine and the Parc de Valency alongside some breathtaking views of Lake Geneva, and ‘Hummus and Wine’.

Hummus Records, the famous Romand’sand the Brasserie de Montbenon, the face of Lausanne’s bistronomy, join forces to provide unique concert sessions with Swiss artists in wine cellars or at the wine-growers estates.

A Vaudois wine-maker will be celebrated before each concert with a tasting and visit of the estate. Lausanne is one of only 11 Wine Capitals of the world (Great Wine Capitals), and so this is an excellent opportunity to taste the local produce that led to this accolade.

There is an excellent variety of events on offer (some free and others ticketed), which will, without a doubt, ensure that all visitors to this city from now until December will leave with their taste buds well and truly tickled.
