Applications are open for the Wine Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu. This exciting new scholarship competition offers the chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity for the most passionate wine enthusiasts to study this highly respected diploma at Le Cordon Bleu London.
The institute is searching for the country’s aspiring wine professionals to give them the chance to follow their dreams and aspirations. An impressive list of partners is involved in the scholarship, including Louis Latour, Gusbourne, Smith & Sheth, Pyramid Valley, Viu Manent, Banfi, HIDE and Hedonism.
The competition will take place over three stages. The first round takes place online, the semi-final in the form of an interview, and the final will take place at Le Cordon Bleu London. Here finalists will be challenged to a blind tasting, food and wine pairing exercise and an interview with Le Cordon Bleu London’s Wine Development Manager and Master Sommelier, Matthieu Longuere, and two independent wine and hospitality experts.
The winner will be awarded a place on the highly respected Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy and Management, with exclusively curated internship placements following completion. The six-month diploma is a professional wine course like no other.
Developed by renowned wine professionals, it is a full-time wine business management course that fully prepares students to succeed in the world of wine. It provides an in-depth knowledge of wine, its integration with gastronomy and its management within a commercial environment. Students will learn from Matthieu Longuere in addition to other leading names in the industry.
After completing the diploma, the scholarship winner will take part in an exclusively curated internship programme. The three-month internship features placements at HIDE and Hedonism Wines, giving the winner experience working in both restaurant and retail wine, and the opportunity to apply their newly gained knowledge in a real-world setting.
In addition to the diploma and internship, the winner will get a mixed case of Burgundy wines from the Côte d’Or courtesy of Maison Louis Latour, a mentoring session from Steve Smith MW of Smith & Sheth, and a mixed case of Pyramid Valley and Smith & Sheth wines, a mixed case of wines from the Colchagua Valley courtesy of Viu Mament, a mixed case of wines from Montalcino courtesy of Banfi and Gusbourne will provide a space in the Gusbourne Academy programme for the winner and membership subscription to the winner and runners up.
